They seem to have stopped, at least. Five is enough, surely.

They scored three goals in five minutes. Still another 12 minutes left. Could be another six goals in it for them.

Yes, England have decided 2 is enough. San Marino always get hammered and we wouldn't be good hosts if we humiliated them would we?

Easiest goal anyone will ever score from 30 yards out.

My mistake. 3-0. San Marino, you have been schooled! Poland, are you scared?

The worst thing is you can see what England are trying to do, they're just not really capable of doing it.

Scotland were crap. The World will be spared exposure to our version of football.

The number of times I've seen pundits trying to excuse Wales' penalty with "there was a bit of contact" or "he was clipped" is unbelievable. I don't know why, but no-one seems prepared to call the diving simian goon for what he is, i.e. a fucking cheat.

whats wrong with the video ref thing like they use in rugby? if they had that last night Scotland would have won 2-0...and diving prick would have been sent off.

On the one hand I agree with what everyone says, it's cheating.

On the other... woohoo Wales win a match! Frankly I'll take what I can get...

What makes the match interesting is that Trapattoni's job is under serious pressure. Qualifying for the Euros was a double-edged sword. On the one hand, great to get there. But on the other the team was so poor that since then the media and many fans have been asking big questions about why some players aren't being selected and a lot more negative comments (he only flies over here for the games, he doesn't scout, what does he do for the money) are getting asked.

Those questions were being asked before EURO 2012.

I wonder what odds I could get on Germany trashing Ireland by a greater margin than England trashing San Marino.

Sorry I should have been clearer that imo they are now being asked more frequently and widely.

A terrible performance and result, the knee-jerk response to it is wondering if an away game to the Faroe Islands on Tuesday could provide a surprise result. I think somewhere else somebody said that the FAI gave Trap a new 2 year contract just before the Euros, so buying him and his team out of that might be too expensive. In that case, the pressure will continue for a resignation with a pay-off.

I don't buy the "FAI can't afford it" BS. They got 8 million for playing in the EUROS and that's not including sponsors, TV rights etc...

Of course we do have one of the highest paid chief executives in international football who earns more than the head of Spanish and Italian football COMBINED. All this for being a completely ineffective muppet who has done nothing to further the game, the league or youth development in Ireland.

Yeah, you answered your own question about where that money's going. Delaney and the FAI agreeing to buy out Trap's contract would be the equivalent of turkeys voting for Christmas.

I don't follow the financial affairs of the FAI too closely, but I thought they were still paying off debt associated with the Aviva stadium.

Delaney is an overpaid twit though.
