 Scotland's group's a bit tasty. Serbia, Croatia and Macedonia. Maybe they'll get themselves banned.

Quite pleased with the toughness of the 5th and 6th teams and the similarities of the 1, 2, 3 teams. Decent shot at it now.

 Taken from this story about Brazil not yet passing the FIFA laws (including selling football at the WC, which is I'm sure in no way related to Budweiser's sponsorship of all things FIFA-esque). I thought this showed unusual self awareness from a FIFA official.

Fifa General Secretary Jerome Valcke "...Excuse me if I sound a bit arrogant..."

I'm really hoping that Brazil passes the law, but in small print that no one can see it stipulates that Bavaria beer is the only beer that can be sold at the grounds and each game will have a section models in the crowd dressed in orange mini skirts (or short lederhosen) to promote the FIFA concept of drinking at WC matches.

 It's only 1-0 though. Dodgy pitch, etc.

I don't know what to say. A lot of people were looking for Trap out after the WC based on the style of play. But you know, he got the team there, first tournament in 10 years? There's just a paucity of talent to pick from. Fekking hard to watch stuff.

Disagree.

There is a lot of talent out there but Trapp just doesn't pick them - Long, McClean, Coleman, Hoolahan, Clark, Pilkington, Cunningham, Tierney, Wilson.

But FFS, even the team out there now should win against Kazakhstan. We've got a team made up of PL and Championship players and we look like a pub team.

 Not an ideal start for us but neither side really deserved the win so a draw was fair. Lets hope we get a win against Macedonia next and have 4 points from two games which I would've taken precampaign.

 Well, I was at the game yesterday, and unfortunately, it turned out exactly the way I feared it would.

In all honesty, we could have had Pele up front & it would have barely made a difference, as there was no ambition shown whatsoever to push forward & press the game. Every time Serbia retained possession, we immediately dropped into our own half - never getting in their faces or forcing them into making rushed decisions. The negativity displayed in our approach is symptomatic of Levein's tactical style for Scotland & considering the strengths we have in our squad (very decent, technically astute players with an attacking sensibility), it's just not good enough resorting to slow build-up play or punting long balls into the corner with the hope that an unfit & overweight Kenny Miller will latch onto them.

In regards to the team, the focus this week in terms of media coverage was how vulnerable we could be in our defence given the volume of injuries we've had to contend with. Ironically though, the lads who stepped in (Paul Dixon, Andy Webster, Christophe Berra - yep, even him!) along with Caldwell & McGregor were the only ones for me who achieved pass marks. Charlie Adam on the other hand was dreadful, wasting set pieces at every single opportunity - it was a chilling reminder to his days of mediocrity at Ibrox. Additionally, it's also safe to say that "Miller time", is no more.

And that's where the Fletcher issue kicks in. He's a petulant imbecile with little respect for his team mates, his country & the folk who travel thousands of miles to endure (more often than not) predictable disappointment every time a select few put on that navy blue jersey; BUT he's a footballer, this personalty trait is not unique. He's also a pretty good one. A goal scorer. Something which for a nation like ourselves, is gold dust. Levein has allowed his stubbornness & his personal pride to get in the way of what many people perceive to be in the national interest. We simply cannot afford to snub players of that quality due to a personalty clash. He has to be bigger than that.

The fact that he hasn't been; combined with his insipid tactics (the worst of all being the 4/6/0 formation in Prague) & the stupid inclusion of Ian Black in the Australia friendly last month has brought unnecessary pressure on him - something which can only be tempered with by achieving good results in meaningful matches. Sadly, this is something Levein has just not achieved to date. Patience (it goes without saying) is wearing very thin amongst the tartan army. I can already hear knives sharpening in various newspaper outlets based around the Clyde.

Macedonia on Tuesday is make or break time really. If we don't get 3 points then the game is up - both for Levein & for our already dwindling world cup hopes.

Predictably disappointing...
