Just got back from watching this, IMO the best-scripted film Studio Ghibli has done in ages and is complemented by sometimes glorious visuals . A co-writing and planning credit for Hayao Miyazaki made me wish he'd directed the film himself (some of the insects were a bit cute for my liking and I have to say the Disney-esque English language theme song that periodically appears is a real misstep), but Hiromasa Yonebayashi has made a superb debut, doing particularly well with any of the scenes from Arrietty's perspective. I've never been interested in The Borrowers before, but this is a brilliant adaptation that captures the magic of their world with a real sense of wonder. Genuinely worth a watch.
