inspired by his latest moment of magic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8HKSXSU148&feature=player_embedded), and since the other thread has become a more general discussion about young footballers, here's a thread for fans of the constant stream of surreal brilliance produced by the Italian nutter/hero. Personally, I think he's keeping the PL interesting with his antics, so here's to another twelve months of grass allergies, dart throwing, bib drama and saving children from bullies.

Am I the only one who thinks Mancini overreacted? It was only a friendly after all, and what's wrong with showing a bit of flair or ambition?

Having said that, Balotelli is nuttier than squirrel turds.

Far be it for anyone to defend Balotelli but Mancini is a plonker and the type of manager who should be run out of the game.

Football should be a game of creativity, intelligence (footballing) and skill. Players should be encouraged to be imaginative and try the unexpected.

Mancini saying football should "always be serious" says all you need to know about him!

Typical Italian manger.

I think he kind of had to after the way the crowd turned on Mario, tbh. I would have left it until half time though at least. I'm hoping the hardline attitude Mancini is apparently taking doesn't lead to Balotelli's madness being reduced/removed over the coming season, as an Arsenal fan I'm going to need all the hilarity I can get really.

As I said in another thread, I did initially feel a bit sorry for him being dragged half way across the world to play in a meaningless friendly in hot conditions. And why not try to put on a bit of flair. Then I realised that he gets around 100K a week, and he should really do what his manager asks him to do for this and do it with good grace.

And he duffed it up completely!

Any player who makes Rio Ferdinand cry like a little girl at Wembley is alright in my book.

He seems very much the Big Brother contestant of football.

He really is a bit of a belter but I think he's great entertainment whether doing stupid stuff on or off the pitch. I hope he doesnt calm down as we all need a clown to watch now and again!

I think Mancini was just embarrassed. Its hardly as good as his own effort from his Lazio days (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTE7nkFk1go)

I think he's going to be like Robinho. Inconsistently sensational, and then he's going to piss off after 18 months.

I think he will be a better player than Robinho and arguably already is.

As has been said above he is as mad as a box of frogs but their is no denying he is a talented little bastard.

Clearly, Balotelli is the most mature man in the City set up at the moment.

He won't stand for the gnome stealing his limelight. I fully expect him to pull something spectacular out of the bag.

Another game, another goal. Another great display from the crazed, misunderstood genius that is SUPER MARIO!!!

This guy has the potential to take the world by storm. Andthere is a fair chance it could be THIS season.

I love the guy. He is never less than amazing, even if he isn't actually doing something with the ball.

I think he is brilliant but I'd echo what Alan Hansen said the other day, when your team is behind in a really big game can you rely on him to pull something special out of the bag or is he more likely to throw his toys out of the pram and get sent off.

I thought his best game was in the FA Cup final. But what would I know compared to Hansen? Granted they weren't behind, but it was a big game and he stepped up to the mark. He's only really been in trouble this season for trying a back heel when he thought he was offside in a friendly. And the likes of Tevez, Rooney and Suarez have looked less stable at times than Mario.

Yeah Mario's been great this season. But I can't help but pine for some ridiculous antics involving motorbikes or goldfish or international relations incidents.

Anyone seen the story in todays Sun? Tried to get a link but failed.
Basically his Mum sent him out to buy a load of cleaning stuff for his house but instead a John Lewis lorry turned up with a load of 'boy toys' including 2 Vespa's?!?!?

He is possesed with the ghost of a younger, madder Gazza.

According to the same rag, he's also been caught taking shifty glimpses at Porn Mags whilst out shopping with his missus and thinking she wasn't watching. As a United fan I should hate him, but I just can't, the humour is too awesome.

Bad news: Super Mario not organising Christmas party. Good news: Super Mario likes kickboxing and his fireworks incident was "very bad and scary also". Still the best person ever basically.
