I wonder how many of your most hated films will show up here?  Can't wait until we get to The Boondock Saints.

It's actually very popular with wannabe hipsters, so I'm surprised you don't love it.

I for one don't fancy Helen Mirren and therefore don't engage in fantasies about her, practically everyone else but not her. Aguirre is class.

I don't fancy her either. I can't stand her most of the time.

I've never been impressed with her outside of Gosford Park and The Madness Of King George. She's made out to be some national treasure for reasons I just can't fathom.

I'm not surprised, but, y'know, actual hipsters have more taste than that. Not that you'd know. You try-hard.

I'm getting on this fairly early, cos I've actually seen 3 of the 4 films in the list so far, and I know with a rawls list, that kind of ratio ain't gonna last...

Abhijan - not seen. After this appeared first, I thought, "Oh right. Here we go....".

A bout de souffle - Not that keen, to be honest. It's alright, and has some likeable scenes, but it can be quite irritating at times and I still don't understand the adulation it gets. I gave it a 5.5/10 when I saw it. I later admitted that that was a bit harsh even for Johnny Harsh-pants, here. Didn't change it, though!

After Life - Ok, but slow and missing a bit of spark for me. Nobody Knows is superior.

Aguirre: The Wrath of God - This was my fist Herzog film, and only my second Kinski (Android!). Very good, and Kinski is awesome-mental. PA's opinion on it continues to bafflerise me.
I don't know what a hipster actually is. I realise that means I can't possibly be one. I was listening to one of the Scott Pilgrim commentaries and they kept banging on and on and on about hipsters, and I was thinking, yeah, but what the fuck are you on about? Hipsters shmipsters, I say.
Oh, and I don't fancy or ham-shank over Helen Mirren. She's. An. Old. Lady.

Carry on.

But what about Age of Consent, Last Orders, Excalibur, The Long Good Friday, Blue Remembered Hills?

I wonder how long it will be until we get to a film I've seen.

Depends whether you mean Hollywood or Foreign. Seen lots of Holywood and hardly any foreign. So we'll see.

Abhijan- Not seen but I luuuuuuuuuuurve the Apu trilogy.
Breathless- I luuuuuuuuurve this too.
After Life- I think I will luuuuuuuuuurve this more than I love PA's mum.
Aguirre- I'm surprised PA hasn't done a hissy fit about this. Great film though.
Alice in the Cities- I have Kings of the Road to watch, after watching that I'll watch this.

Here we go... a rawlinson list full of obscure films I've neither seen nor heard of!
It might not be that obscure in the scheme of things - I'm aware of Satyajit Ray (but only cos of folk on this forum discussing his films) and for all I know this might be one of his most famous titles.
Haven't seen Maborosi either....

Hmmm. We're past Aladdin in your alphabet of dreams. All Dogs Go to Heaven? Appleseed? Seems unlikely. An American Tale? Astro Boy? Damn, where's Timmy when you need one.

Wait, I know! It's All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku!

Past Akira too.

Bambi?

Edit:
An American Tail
Anastasia
A Scanner Darkly (Does that count?)
Arthur and the Invisibles

Or is it a A Matter of Loaf and Death just for Gimli

I've seen the middle three. Good films, she isn't.

I'd love it if the next film was Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein. I think it may be American Pop

Not seen Abhijan, After Life or Alice in the Cities.

I really like A bout de souffle but I still can't decide where I stand on Aguirre - some days I think its fantastic, some days I think its really really dull (though Kinski is great).

Akira did nearly make it. I'm not giving away if A Scanner Darkly or Loaf and Death will be under s and m though.

I wouldn't be in the least surprised if something on this list comes under "S and M"....

It's worth checking out. The segments are so well done, and so different from each other, that you should find something to enjoy.

Almost Human sounds interesting.

I've been wanting to see Allegro Non Troppo for ages now. I think all the segments are on Youtube, I'll have to give it a go.

Almost Human is actually out on R2 dvd next week, from those wonderful people at Shameless. They've somehow managed to use the shot of the topless women hanging from the chandelier as the cover art.
