From the transcript it just seems to be opportunity when an ex-pap stopped when he broke down. So he just thought he'd turn the tables for once.

I never really paid attention to the phone-hacking before and whilst obviously realising it was awful thing to do it didn't bother me that much.

This though is utterly reprehensible and I'm genuinely shocked that anyone would do it. It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday although I suspect that not a lot will change unfortunately.

Here's my take. As a matter of principle Mrs Brooks should offer her resignation. It might not be taken, but it should be tendered. And here's why? If she did know and that story comes out its going to be even shittier for her and her employers. It never ceases to disgust me how low some journalists go to get information for a story but this really is the worst example so far. Some journalists are remarkably brave in war zones like Kate Adie or rightly expose people upto no good and prove invaluable where others should be locked up and have the key thrown away! I can`t think of many professions with such extremes of useful and disgraceful behaviour. This time they can`t hide behind the usual excuse that their maybe catching out celebs upto no good (still wrong to hack of course their phones just to find news stories without evidence of a scandal)  now the tables have been rightly turned. Everyone who enabled this to happen and who did this should be sacked and prosecuted!
