OK, so I'm hankering for a good bomb disposal scene.

Usually, I'd google "top 10 bomb disposal scenes" or "favourite ticking bomb movies" and pick from that. But frankly, it's a wasteland out there.

You get Hurt Locker, followed by Die Hard 3, followed by Lethal Weapon. Great. I could have thought of those on my own.

Is the ticking bomb such a trope that it doesn't even warrant a decent list?

Here's the challenge:

Films with a great bomb scene, but the character's have to be aware it's there (A Touch of Evil's fantastic, but I'm talking bomb disposal - sweaty, coloured wires, time running out. That sort of thing). I'm drawing a blank and it looks like I'm not the only one.

Octopussy is redeemed by a genuinely quite tense bomb scene. Tis a pity that Roger Moore is dressed as a clown, but that's Bond for you.

Lost Season 5 finale

Hmm... its certainly a tense scene with a ticking bomb but due to the motivations of most of the characters I am not sure if it qualifies. Now, the Lost season 4 finale- that fits the bill perfectly*

*OK, aside from the fact that its not a movie.

If you want TV series then the last few seasons of Spooks have 2-3 a series.

Alien I think is a winner in this category, Aliens although tense didn't have the disposal element.

Ice Age 3 (not really, but I did enjoy that one, I think)
I like the clown aspect of Sir Rog's defusal of the bomb, Rhub, it highlights to what extremes that film goes.

I'm looking for the name of a movie that has a bomb squad expert defusing a bomb on the underneath of a car seat between the legs of an attractive blond girl. It happens at the beginning of the movie and then again at the end. Jealous boyfriend, indeed! Any help would be appreciated.

That'd be the previously mentioned Pierce Brosnan epic, Live Wire.

Not seen it for a while but I have a feeling Source Code might have a bit of bomb disposal. Could be imagining it though. Or I could be thinking of an alternate timeline...
