 I watched this game. Villa can't even complain that the sending off turned the game, I think WBA were looking comfy before that. I said a couple of weeks ago that any pressure Roy was under was stupid and he's lifted them up to a comfy position now. Villa on the other hand seem to be worryingly lacking zip and verve, you get the idea it could be a long winter for them.

Sky's Game of the Day so I will watch it tonight but from the radio commentary it sounded like we bossed the midfield even before the sending off. After a good couple of performances against Man U and Chelsea, we did go off the boil and put in some abject displays against other teams, but I believe that this was a confidence issue - I mean the fact that we played so well against 2 great teams and came away with nothing must be demoralising for the players. That said, any pressure on Roy must have been press induced as I never felt anything down the Hawthorns - admittedly, we did need points, but I don't believe any level headed WBA fan would have been hitting the panic button just yet! Having said that, it is nice to get some points on the board and see some reward for the lads efforts.

I thought 2-0/3-1 City, jebus I don't think i've ever seen United carved up like that before and those last 3 minutes were ridiculous.

 First time I've seen QPR this season... and lordy they were bad. Still they are in the top half of the table.

Cracking weekend of football.
Blackburn, Wigan and Bolton all losing (again) and now in trouble. Great comeback by Wolves against Swansea. Norwich lucky against Liverpool, but maybe deserve the odd point.

Arsenal creeping up to 7th very quietly. If Spurs win their game in hand (that missed first game of the season), they'll be level on points with Newcastle and Chelsea a point behind Utd. But after that City performance, it feels like they are all chasing the first loser position.

Did you see the game? I'm genuinely surprised by all this talk of Swansea 'dominating' us. I didn't see that at all. The only thing they had on us was their wingers (surprisingly, Hammil and Jarvis have been mostly ineffective the last couple weeks). We made more chances, had much more of the ball. I've read most of the reports saying that they 'controlled' the game and defended well but we have 5 or 6 good chances in the first half alone, with their goalie keeping them in it for the most part.

 Wolves had been on a bad run. But I don't see them going down this season. I saw a bit of them last season and they weren't as bad as some of their form indicated, in fact they were unlucky in a number of games. Swansea I only saw play once this season, in an early game against Arsenal. They passed it very well, but seemed to have no cutting edge. That was their first point away from home and I think they will continue to struggle in on their travels, which could very well mean they will be in a relegation fight.

But, I'd be pretty happy if the bottom 3 as they stand go down. Which is quite amazing as that would mean no promoted team from last season going down.

If QPR weren't so shite, I'd be inclined to agree. Wigan have been lucky to escape the last couple of years. I think they're going down this time. Saying that, we're not even into 10 games yet, so a lot could happen between now and then.

 QPR will spend again in Jan. Don't forget that the takeover was just before the summer window closed, so they snatched a couple of signings like Indian Jones grabbing his hat before the door came fully down. But based on today's game they are guff.

He's the best player in the league by some margin IMO. Just oozes class, always on the move looking for the ball, smart, not afraid to invite a challenge and by the looks of it almost impossible to mark. He's the one player City can't really replace if he gets injured.

 Another cracking weekend coming up.

Everton vs Utd. Really anything could happen here. Man Utd could bounce back with a point to prove from their trouncing at City and give Everton a spanking. But I think it will be one of those lunchtime games that no one has actually woken up for, a messy tight affair that I think Utd will shave as Everton will be more tired from the Carling Cup game and have Cahill and Drenthe out.

Chelsea vs Arsenal. You have to fancy Chelsea at home, even with all those suspensions they have picked up. But Arsenal are slowly improving so it shouldn't be a slaughter.

Man City to hammer Wolves.

Apparently Blackburn have targeted Norwich as an away game they can win, no chance Norwich are playing well Blackburn will be rooted even further at the bottom of the table.

Villa have lost their last couple, Sunderland have struggled, but I think might just be turning the corner. Sunderland to scrape a win.

Swansea should be able to out pass Bolton's dodgy defense.

Wigan and Fulham will probably end in some kind of a result

I think West Brom will miss Long against Liverpool, but might still get a draw.

Spurs should run up some kind of cricket score against QPR on Sunday and Newcastle to bounce back to winning ways against Stoke on Monday.

 Yes. Interesting game. Both teams playing high up the pitch. Gervinho has pace to worry the Chelsea defense, but I still think that Chelsea have enough movement and ability to give Arsenal a hiding if they can string it together and convert their chances. Should be more goals in this one!

 No score so far, and this is at home against a team with a manager who allegedly does not know what he's doing.

City on top. In fact typical City who seem to slowly strangle teams like a python before sticking a couple in the net.

 Solid performance from City there. That's the kind of performance that ens up with trophies at the end of the season.

You could tell that with 30 minutes left, they had thoughts of the mid-week Champs League game. Down to 10 men and Wolves get a goal back. But I maintain that Adam Johnson is one of the best impact subs around now. Mancini might not have brought him on for that, but its his pace that's got him a goal-scoring chance on the break and he does finish it nicely sometimes.

Wolves fans should be proud of the performance, a team that should miss relegation by a few points.

 I forgot to add. 28 points from 30!!! That is just one hell of a start from City.

Some cracking finishes to the other games there.

Norwich get 2 late strikes back with a really late penalty to burst Blackburn's bubble of what should have been their first away win of the season 3-3 draw.

And Villa and Sunderland giving their fans some late excitement in a 2-2 draw.

Wigan beaten at home 2-0 by Fulham. Bolton easily beaten by Swansea (I so want to be called Angel Rangel in another life :-) ). They'll both be down by Christmas at this rate.
