RVP was having a go at Krul for time wasting earlier. At the end after Arsenal scored RVP reportedly said to Krul something along the lines of: "Try time wasting now" and Krul threw his dummy out at it. There was probably more to it than that though.

Silly behaviour from RVP tonight, should have been booked, no surprise really, Howard Webb refereeing and a big-name player on show, not going to act too shocked nothing happen. There was no need for that set of handbags and goading at the end, I expect more from professional, elite footballers.

He did book him.

Oh he did, fair enough. I didn't see that, I thought he hadn't.

Hmmm, interestingly put. RVP went over to try and goad Krul a bit, and got a response, and to be honest Krul wasn't time-wasting, he was doing what every goalkeeper does in that situation. I don't know why RVP seemed to shocked to get a reaction and then went back for some more and caused a bunch of unneccessary handbags between a set of what are supposed to be professional football players.

I'm only going by the second half, but he did take AGES for every kick out. I'd understand if it was the last ten minutes of the game but it was for the entire game (again, only going by what I saw of it). Seems strange when a quicker counter-attacking approach would have stretched our defence a lot more (especially considering how we were bombing forward madly towards the end) and would have been more effective than wasting time and playing for a draw so early. I'm obviously not going to make a big deal about it because we won anyway, but it was strange.

To paint RVP as the only bad guy in the whole incident is a bit disingenuous really.

No he wasn't, but he started it by stirring things up, then the rest followed in suit and it all looked a bit of a mockery really. It's a personal opinion but I just get tired of seeing that crap on the football pitch, you don't even get this kind of stuff in most local Sunday leagues anymore.

Didn't see it at all. But arsenal captain wanting the team to win and getting a bit prickly. If I were a gooner, best news I could have.

What a season for RvP. He's stayed fit, is a goal-scoring, match-winning machine, and has taken this leadership position that many said Arsenal were lacking back in September.

Indeed, to be honest I didn't see much wrong with it at all. Van Persie gave him a bit of stick for his previous time wasting and Krul came rushing out of his goal. There was a bit of squaring up and mouthing and sprouting but it's not like there were any slaps thrown. No big deal.

EDIT: Forgot to say, Harry for England!

So after the two Manchester clubs fighting for 1st on Sunday and Arsenal nudging up to Spurs last night. Its the ding dong battle for 7th tonight!

I'm expecting that the number of bookings outnumbers the shots on target and red cards outnumbers goals. Just 4 home wins for Liverpool this season. Everton have only scored 13 goals on their travels. 0 - 0 is my forecast.

Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of passion, but it's when it looks like a set of 11 year-old schoolgirls arguing over who got the coolest-looking phone first, it tends to get a bit, you know, cringeworthy. Passion can be better displayed in the way you play the game and displaying a never-say-die attitude, which Arsenal certainly did from a footballing perspective last night.

You think so? I think he's more fun about him, he isn't as reactionary "will someone thing of the children" as the rest of them.
He's also quite scathing and honest about teams and player IMHO. Look at what he said about David Luiz.

Give me the Nev over the likes of Robbie Savage anyday, "we need referee's to show consistency", then in the next breath "referee's need to use common sense". Which do you want Robbie, the rules consistently applied, or common sense?

I don't think we've had a proper 'reactionary' pundit since Ian Wright to be honest. I can't really think of any pundits at the moment who make the hour before the game and the half hour after remotely attractive, and all the networks are as bad as each other, with ESPN firmly the worst closely followed by C5. I like Matt Holland though. Bias warning I know but as far as speaks the truth and can be quite scathing about teams when it's required, he fits the bill.

Difference between Neville and Ian Wright though, is that Neville also makes sense.

I like Neville as a pundit. And even though I have had slight disagreements with his opinions at times at least he is articulate to put his views on the issue better than most (if not all) pundits.

He keeps coming to our training ground to "speak to players" these days. I think Powelly's told him to sod off a couple of times.

Which game is that SWP scored that good goal for England in? I remember you could hear his screams of joy from the studio mics placed in the commentary box. He wouldn't shut up about it after the game, in fact I don't think he sat down for 20 minutes.

I'll take it you are referring to Shaun as being "utter gash" because Bradders is a pure bloody footballing genius I'll have you know!

I wasnt a big fan of him as a player, though I am a liverpool fan so that goes without saying, but he is a great pundit. Hopefully he will be doing the derby match tonight or would 2 nights in a row be too much? That would means 'overly enthusiastic and intense' jamie instead.

I think he scored twice on his debut.

And compared to Shaun, I'm sure Bradley is veritably Messi-esque.

Yeah Gary has pleasantly surprised me because he was always a tool as a player. (same goes for Martin Keown, even though the nature of tribalism means that I have always loved Martin Keown.) As for Ian Wright, it's sad because he was a great player and all, but he's a complete and utter idiot.

Martin Keown's best moment as a pundit was when he got hit in face with the ball a few months back.

Yeah Neville has surprised me as well, obviously hated him when he was playing but he's a pretty decent pundit, just lose the goatie.
