Cheer up chappy-o! That's a saying there, right? If not, then "lighten up guv'na" HAS to be.

What's weird about the R rating? In the states, they have R and NC-17 (which some theaters won't play). I prefer "Unrated" myself because even NC-17 can be censored. But some movies like Anti-Christ I was surprised even got NC-17 (thought it should've been Unrated because it was so explicit). R is for movies with violence, swearing, sex, or all of the above. NC-17 is for excessive amounts of those, and Unrated is for movies like Peter Jackson's Dead Alive --- which is just RIDICULOUS with gore (and an awesome movie).

In Canada, I'm not familiar with their rating system here. It's weird... almost like it doesn't exist. I see things on the TV are rated, but often they're uncensored after 10 PM. The way it should be :)

Did you read the decision? The problem is that it's too central to the film to be cut - unlike other films where it just needs trimming of scenes, etc. And it is all down to context etc, but as noted upthread - there is a certain type of strain of sexual violence - one seen solely to titilate - that the guidelines are there to prevent.
