It seems to have had a good response. I just think it's in a really tough round.

I'm not bothered about progressing, it just made me laugh/cry that my choice wasn't my favourite film put forward. Hopefully though it got some much needed and deserved exposure.

I watched it completely "blind". I didn't know anything about the film, I hadn't read your blurb, I didn't read the rubrik on the back of the DVD, I didn't visit imdb. And I rated it quite highly I think.

Conversely, a couple of films that have done well in the public vote and I thought I'd like, didn't do so well for me this time round.

I think I also didn't rate my film #1, and it was very tight between that and #3

Exactly, it's not always about trying to win. That's why I've put up films like My Winnipeg and Peppermint Candy in the past, sometimes you just want to get a film seen by more people. Are you considering putting in for a long-term slot when we do the call for members?

I loved it. So I guess I should say thank you.

Also, who agrees that we ban My Neighbour Totoro because of Swords' tardiness?

And I'm totally not saying that because there are about nine other films I rate higher than it.

That is true.

Depends where he's stuck his finger, really. If it's in Deviation's mum, it could take weeks to remove.

Trust me, I know.

She's at that age, lubricant is a must to avoid unwanted clampage.

Piles, send us your votes or I'm claiming Ikiru as your top spot and Matty can have The French Connection as your second.

YOU LIVE!

You realise if your votes don't actually affect the results as they currently stand, and we could have proceded, we'll be mightily miffed?

So, no pressure.

In other words, Matty really really wants you to vote for The French Connection. It's even got french in the title, you should love it.

That's one of the ones I've already seen. It won't be making my top 6.

Sorry! I do like it, but the standard is high this round. It might do well in rounds 2 or 3 if some of my faves bite the dust.

No, you're right, it is high.

Only one I'd really rather not see advance through.

I wonder what that could be.

I honestly don't mind what goes forward. Even my number 12 vote was a really really good film.
