A crueler, darker, raunchier carbon copy of the first installment, The Hangover Part II lacks the element of surprise and most of the joy that helped make the original a hit.

One of the worst sequels ever, and one of the worst films I've ever seen, an entirely wasted hour-and-a-half of my life. I think the only thing worth a titter was the monkey, and I felt robbed even then; the filmmakers were seriously asking people to watch an ill-conceived, poorly scripted copy of the first film, whereby there is hardly any laughs at all and cheap jokes that seem to be purely for shock value (bangkok ladyboys, anyone?) and low-brow entertainment. Everything here is not even plausible, and I cannot believe they are going to make a third part! Everyone I know hated this so I cannot see that doing well at all. Truly awful, just bad, and I've seen rubbish, believe me, this is the cream of the crop, nothing at all redeems it. And yes, I actually loved the first film, and the sequel has lessened that adoration.
