Michael Bay originally directed Crash, but after submitting a cut of the film, he was fired and replaced by Paul Haggis, who completely re-wrote and re-shot the entire film as a race-related drama which ultimately won the Best Picture Oscar.

Bay's version had the same cast, but it was a fast-paced action film with plenty of car chases, crashes and explosions shot from every angle combined with a heavy Rock soundtrack.

Demi Moore still breast-feeds Ashton Kutcher.

After the troubled Exorcist shoot had wrapped, William Friedkin had his talent removed by top doctors.

The rolling ferris wheel scene in 1941 is actually a colourised out-take from The Third Man. Orson Wells had removed some screws from the Vienna set as a joke on director Carol Reed.

Ingmar Bergman was watching Grease 2 when he died.

Contrary to popular belief Anna Faris is not going to hell for starring in Scary Movie 1 - 4. On the set of Just Friends she convinced Ryan Reynolds to take her place saying that Lucifer was his biggest fan and that after seeing him in The Amityville Horror he though he had acting 'range'.

There are 3 basic plots for all movies based on the following films:
Prayer Of The Rollerboys
Prom Night
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret Of The Ooze

During the filming of Friday 13th, Kevin Bacon's authentic look of surprise when he's murdered was gained by him actually being killed.

Filming for Basic Instinct was held up for 3 hours when, during the sex-scene, Michael Douglas lost his mess all over Sharon Stone's hair.

The Fisher King's much-celebrated Grand Central Station sequence was shot in reverse.

Speed was actually made in 1978. But The world wasn't considered ready untill the 1990s.

Martin Riggs, Mel Gibson's character in the Lethal Weapon movies, is actually based on former Greater Manchester Police Chief Inspector, John Stalker.

John Wayne has given the same performance in more films than any other actor.

In his wrestling days, The Rock's signature move - The People's Elbow - was stolen from former heavyweight, David Niven.

Brittney Murphy practices 4 hours a day to look like, "she does stuff."

Lynn Redgrave was a founder member of Throbbing Gristle.

If the soundtrack to The Wizard Of Oz is played backwards, it's exactly the same length as the film.

Lazarus Munkey is the only person who takes this thread seriously.

Right after I had watched The Number 23 I noticed that I hadn't visited the toilet for 23 minutes, hadn't slept for 23 hours, had burped and farted 23 times during the movie and had stabbed myself in the leg 23 times with a plastic fork. It all sounds crazy, I know, but it doesn't matter now since I'm going to jump out of the window after I have finished this suicide note/book I'm writing. By the way, did you know that 14+4+5=23? If anyone wants to read the book I am writing it will be hidden in the castle Aaaaaarrrgh....

James Earl Jones was the original choice to provide the voice of C3PO and, in turn, Anthony Daniels was first choice for Darth Vader. The decision was made to reverse the roles after George Lucas felt that Vader needed to sound faster and more intense.

The original storyline for Jaws 4 was dropped due to it being preposterous: a Great White shark who just happens to be a relative/friend of the family/high school sweetheart of the one killed in the original Jaws movie is out for revenge and sytematically hunts down and kills every surviving member of Chief Brody's family (be it on land, sea or air). They were even going to cast Sir Michael Caine to give it some much needed gravitas!

Oh, wait a minute...

High School Musical caused about 70 people to die off internal bleeding in its first 30 seconds.

David Zucker still has talent but he lost it while scuba diving in the Atlantic.

Darth Vader is not Luke's father, Luke is actually Darth Vader's father.

Hollywood is actually making a "Dramatic Chipmunk" movie.

In Deliverence, during the hillbilly rape scene: if you pause your DVD and hit zoom three times, you can see Burt Reynolds watching the whole thing.

And smiling.

  • The 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead wasn't a lengthy or difficult production - cheeky director Zack Snyder simply increased the picture contrast of the original and sped the footage up by approximately 33%.

  • Alfred Hitchcock isn't actually dead - he's being held hostage by Brian De Palma, and is forced to direct films in exchange for delicious cholesterol.

  • Russell Crowe's hair was kept flattened in Gladiator by using a volatile mix of the semen of a CGI rhinoceros and Oliver Reed's drool.

  • Casper Van Dien ghost-wrote Chinatown.

  • David Lynch's original designs for Return of the Jedi involved a bizarre mating ritual between Chewbacca and Wicket, with the end result being the birthing of Robin Williams.

Keanu Reeves isn't actually alive. He died during the filming of 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure' in 1987 but they decided to continue filming, one year later, when set dresser Theresa Pedemonte came up with the brilliant idea of standing behind a cardboard cutout of  Reeves and doing a great impression of him whilst wobbling him about from time to time. This tried and tested method proved highly successful and Theresa Pedemonte/Keanu Reeves has appeared in many films since 1989.

Lance Henriksen is actually the future version of Jean-Claude Van Damme.  He explained this to Van Damme on the set of Hard Target.  According to Henriksen, he was sent back to make sure Van Damme did not make any more movies with Dennis Rodman.  This is why they are never seen touching on Hard Target (They used fist doubles for hand to hand fighting).

Van Damme later stole the idea and pitched it to Peter Hyams as Timecop.

The Bratz Movie is the unofficial sequal to Staying Alive

Jaws was filmed in the River Humber. The shark was real.

The Star Wars films are actually a documentary filmed using the Hubble Space telescope.  The opening crawls were added by stringing letters onto wires stretched between the the Sea of Tranquility and the roof of Tesco's in Chiswick.

Leslie Nielson and Steve Martin both have white hair from when they visited the set of Quigley Down Under and spied Tom Selleck’s nutsack!

This is also why Alan Rickman always looks so disgusted.
