I dont think it will necessarily make lots of money. ET was hugely popular in the 80s and it didnt do so well in re-release. Something like the Wizard of Oz, Star Wars or the Godfather had more cultural impact-being quoted, parodied nonstop--but Titanic doesnt seem to have that kind of currency. I wonder if its initial release coincided with changes in international movie distribution that may account in part for its wild international success (where even old men on Indian mountains had seen it). Repeat business in 2012? I am not sure the heart will go on.
