i have a guilty pleasure! i enjoyed the first RESIDENT EVIL film! although GEORGE A' ROMERO'S unfilmed screenplay would of been miles better!, i kinda liked the first movie! APOCALYPSE/EXTINCTION/AFTERLIFE were poor pastiches of much better DEAD films. The sheer amount of material ripped off DAY OF THE DEAD (85) is unreal. Paul w.s. Anderson made a great horror film EVENT HORIZON which is in my top ten, however with the RESIDENT EVIL films he has ignored the brilliant first three games, all the games subplots and has created a franchise based purely on ripping off GEORGE A ROMERO!. The 5th film will be crap! pointless cack aimed at 14 year old spotty twats!
