Again, thats simply not true. This is the thread in question. -
http://www.empireonline.com/forum/tm.asp?m=2614005&mpage=1&key=back%2Cfuture

One forumite had a major issue with it, and he has a history of jumping to conclusions with little to no evidence to back up his claims. His entire argument was destroyed within that thread, re-read it, it will take you two minutes.

And its not 4x more. Another mistruth from you. How is a second hand copy of a six year old DVD collection fairly compared to a brand new Blu-ray copy? You are talking absolute rubbish, and its perfectly fair to call you out on it, especially when you're spreading misinformation that other users may stumble upon.

Sell it. The normal set is 25.

If it was me, I'd sell it and just buy the trilogy on DVD. It's only a fiver now and the PQ and extras are virtually the same as the Blu Ray.

Thats just not at all true. For a start the equivalent DVD set is 12 on Amazon (and I'm not sure that even that has all of the BD extras).

3.99 + 1.24 shipping <<<<< click

It has all the extras on Blu Ray bar the Blu Ray exclusive documentary.

Once again, you are talking rubbish.

Thanks Vad3r.  I know you were just trying to be helpful.  I don't buy anything on DVD though if it's available on Blu-ray.

No problem mate. I'm the same btw, even for a documentary or WWE DVD, if it's on Blu Ray then that's what I'll get.

Speaking of WWE DVDs...check out this thread: Clicky

Nice collection Donovan, but REAL collectors alphabetise and sort by studio!

It is alphabetised! Boxsets are at the top and the rest underneath. For the sake of the list I've put in chronological order of movies.

Nice. Are you going to respond to my earlier post? I put time and effort in to that, and its not really fair of you to simply ignore it, especially when you were proven to be spreading misinformation.

Ditto. I've never heard of anyone sorting by studio before? I mean, maybe in animation having a Disney and a Ghibli and a Pixar section. But how'd you find anything if you have to remember if it's Warners or Universal first?

I actually know a few people that do. Something about the logo's and suchlike lining up appeals to the major OCD'ers!

They must be majorly unhappy bunnies when different releases chop and change the packaging

Yeah, that would be me.  OCD? Maybe.  I just think my dvds look a lot neater when they're ordered by studio. Yes, when they change the spines it's really annoying!  I'd like to go by director sometimes but that would seriously mess up some 'sections', and how do you split up non-director boxsets?  I will add though, that it really requires no extra effort, at least for me, to remember where a dvd is.  I could very easily tell you what studio any title is in without looking at my dvds.

I would like to rearrange mine but the wife thinks I'm bad enough with it all alphabetised. Though I have the Ghibli films under studio as the spines are numbered. It looks better that way. And maybe when I get more and more Disney films as they've started numbering the blu-rays.

Yeah I have all of my Criterion and Masters Of Cinema discs arranged by spine numbers too. I put the few Disney flicks that I have in chronological order, same with Pixar. I separate Blu-rays, DVD's and TV too.

Yep, you got it - it's because I have OCD and I prefer my collection that way. It looks so untidy any other way really, although I have heard of some people arranging by colour too from light to dark, thankfully I am not there yet. Release companies do play merry hell with us OCD'ers though - like Disney shifting their logo from the top then to the bottom and introducing numbered spines half way through the collection!

Donovan, I know you have them alphabetised, I meant both alphabetised AND by studio or whatever.

Although, by director does seem intriguing - I assume chronological too Adam/elab?

Within director I don't really bother with chronological - it's only so I can find them easily and no director goes over one shelf length

Sorry about the picture quality - it's a little blury.  Might be my camera or the light.  The big white box is the Casablanca set.
Top left - Disney films.  Harry Potters in middle.

This is me. Directors together looks so good - especially the BFI releases. Kurosawa is big splotch of RED on my shelves.

Although my BDs are alphabetical at the moment until I build up more of a collection.

Definitely chronological, but for me it's staying by studio chronologically (with a few exceptions).  If sorting by director didn't take all day to sort out I might have given it a go.  Maybe one rainy day.

Granted you sit on the floor surrounded by a few thousand DVDs in the first instance, but by and large it's a one time exercise.

Until you start rearranging things

I've had a Blu-ray player since summer 2009, I should have amassed quite a collection if it wasnt for me being so picky when it comes to price. Not really big enough to warrant a picture really, maybe if you check back in another 3 years.

Gone with the Wind
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Sleeping Beauty
The Sound of Music
Raging Bull
The Searchers
Heat
Trainspotting
Donnie Brasco
Watchmen
Twilight
The Forbidden Kingdom
Toy Story 2
Inglorious Basterds
The Hurt Locker

I own it too - I wanted to see what all the fuss was about plus Kristen Stewart is fine

Empire gave it four stars.

Picky when it comes to price, most of those you can get for under 8. I tend to be a lot more picky due to price with my Blu-Rays now I have a family to support and not as much disposable income as I did when amassing my DVD collection. I'll only buy at the right price, therefore there are a lot of Blu-Rays I want to own but don't right now.

Empire giving a blockbuster four stars is no indication of quality any more. They very rarely give big releases less than three stars.

As a word of advice, always check CEX prices for Blu Rays. They're usually much cheaper than online retailers and a lot of good Blu Rays can be bought from just 3.00 (free shipping, or you can pick it up in store for the same price).

Clicky

I picked up Buried, Bad Lieutenant and Splice yesterday for 6 each. They're less than a year old releases.

I concur about cex. I think the blu ray price argument is hilarious as if you look around, most blu rays can be got very reasonably!

The fewer he has means the more picky he is.

Also, Twilight is nowhere near as bad as most of your collection.

Everyone, I'm wrong and adambatman82 is right regarding the BTTF Blu Ray.

To be perfectly honest, I though you were rude and very condescending. I don't really want to reply to your posts any more.
