Who ever released the information about the Navy Seals had made a huge mistake. It's a huge propaganda blow to the US and a big pro to the Taliban.

Put it this way. The US special forces were able to go into an enemy compond, not only did they assassinated Bin Laden but stole his body. That was a huge blow to Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
It's scary for them because there could be a Predator missle above their heads or worst an untouchable team can go in and remove key leaders.

Now the Taliban had learnt not only they were successful in bring down a Nato aircraft but learnt some of these soldiers were responsible for Bin Laden's death. It give out the wrong message and now makes Taliban more appealing to the extremist.

And what the heck do you mean by "if he ever existed?"

You need to stop reading the crazy dude.

There's plenty people who believe that 'Bin Laden the terrorist' was an invention of the CIA. A fictional bogeyman designed to be a figurehead of evil to scare the American into supporting their military endeavours.

Most people in world not fed on the mainstream western media actually tend to question the "official" line of Bin Laden's existence.

So basically, people with tin foil hats who in their own image of themselves, are not fed on the mainstream western media and tend to question the "official" line of Bin Laden's existence. Instead they are fed by some frequently lunatic, even more dubious sources. WIN!

The arguement that Bin Ladens power and continued influence were overhyped by the West post 9/11 could be valid.

But are you suggesting that he simply did not exist? That no one was in that compound. No one was killed?

You do realise how stupid this sounds?

Most of the SEALs belonged to the same elite unit that killed Osama bin Laden, although they were not the same people who participated in the May raid into Pakistan that killed the al-Qaida leader. The downing was a stinging blow to the lauded, tight-knit SEAL Team 6, months after its crowning achievement.

If Bin Laden wasn't killed at the compound why did Al Queda issue a release confirming it had happened?

The first in a long string of holes in Spaldron's argument. There's also the fact that if he wasn't dead I'm sure nothing would have been more pleasing for him than releasing a video with proof of the date laughing at America about how he was still alive.

Also, the reason why they released no picture; sorry, the official mainstream media fed message was that there was no picture because it would spread the internet and become a point of idolisation for some of the extremists in the world. I may be being spoonfed, but I find this a perfectly valid reason myself. Yes there were people who saw no raid, but there were also many people who did, along with people at the time of the raid tweeting about activity in the area before being aware of what was actually happening.

The idea that Bin Laden didn't exist is ludicrous as well, his power was perhaps over played in the media, but to say that he was invention of the CIA is simply a silly idea.

I am someone who enjoys questioning what the media tell us, but you have to know what to question and what to accept as fact. When the media tells you that the government is doing a good job because A B and C, question the validity of their arguments, when they tell you someone is dead, it's usually true...

Not that he didn't exist physically per se, I'm well aware of his actual presence on this earth, but his role as "worlds most evil terrorist" etc. He spent most of the 80's as a CIA trained and funded rebel fighter and (some say) has continued to be in the service of the US ever since. The US needed a new enemy after the cold war and the CIA with help from the mainstream media conveniently found a paid stooge in Bin Laden to rally the Americans in supporting their illegal wars and pouring billions of taxpayers cash into the military industrial complex.

Just to clarify I'm not making an argument here, just airing my observations and allowing others to make their own minds up.

the thing is he didn't - and he wasn't funded by the CIA, the CIA funded the ISI's involvement in Afghanistan which in turn funded the Pashto groups involved (these later became the taliban)

Bin Laden funded his band of Arab fighters, his father was one of the richest people in the Arabian Peninsular, a large amount of which he inheited. His wealth was much larger than anything that the CIA was throwing to the Afghan rebels in the 80's. When AQ was based in Northern Sudan he decided that the roads weren't good enough, so he had a highway built. not a few miles, but 800Km of motorway from Port Sudan to Khartoum.

It's a conspiracy theory.

It isn't really or at least I don't think it is. So far there's been no real evidence to suggest it was anything other than four bampots blowing themselves up on London transport.

It's interesting how they just executed Bin Laden without any trial - does make you wonder what he would have had to say for himself and who he was potentially connected to. I think we always have to question the official line, there's so many lies told by politicians and media in each other's pockets, if you buy it all you should don a wooly coat and go "BAAAAA"

Some new info come to light on the lack of any evidence relating the the Bin Laden assassination.

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/323364

quote:

In response to the request for visual evidence of Bin Ladenís death, the Pentagon stated that it could not find any pictures or video footage of the raid itself or of Bin Ladenís dead body. It also told AP it could not locate any images of Bin Ladenís body that were taken on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson, the Navy aircraft carrier that reportedly lowered him into the sea after his death.

And we're still expected to believe he was killed last year?
