Good, The Killing didn't need a third season. Never even heard of Awkward

Yay for Teen Wolf...not sure about 24 ep's. They should keep it for the length of eps it has now. I am watching Season 2 at the mo and loving it.

As for Falling Skies...this season is ok...i'll give it a go. I'm happy its gotten another season.

Caught one episode of the original and thought it was a rubbish, not sure why they'd want to remake it.

I'm waiting for The Bridge remake that FX are producing, the original Swedish/Danish series was amazing although the US version could be good as long as it doesn't turn into another The Killing.

He says that? Heh. I've been saying that from years, got it from my dearly departed gran, it was one of her favourite curses

Was shocked when it was said in Enemy of the State as well

This thread's probably as good as starting a new one.

Anyway, in a desperate attempt to increase their ratings on the back of their Olympics coverage, NBC showed a few of their new shows earlier than normal. Probably of note (er, and the only one I've watched) is the newest Matthew Perry vehicle, Go On. And d'you know what? It was alright as far as pilots go. Perry plays a sports radio DJ who has recently lost his wife - and is forced to go into group therapy. It's a potentially dark setup and almost makes you wonder if it was originally some kind of Showtime 'dramedy' before Perry got attached and it was retooled. But considering those two extremes it does handle the tonal changes pretty well - its best scene is about emotion rather than laughs. What is a problem is the sheer throw mud at wall approach - there are about 10 characters in therapy in addition to several more at his place of work (and cameos from real life sporting figures), and I wouldn't say anything gets above the level of amusing. Generally though, I found it pretty likeable. New episodes are still a few weeks off.

I watched the Go On pilot, there are a few critics saying Perry was doing the usual Chandler routine and I can see why they would think that but there was something different in his performance I liked it although the next few episodes will tell the direction the show will go in. Apparently a few critics have also been comparing it to Community, as it contains a bunch of outsiders of different walks of life connected by one man; Perry being compared to Jeff Winger.

Really enjoy Parenthood, it's a change from most other shows I watch but the performances and chemistry between the cast are great. Think it's going for Season 4 in the states, I just hope some channel picks it up - just can't think who at the moment.

In acquisitions news Syfy has picked up Canadian sci-fi show Continuum which they will air sometime in September.

Also ITV2 has picked up last season's show Up all Night along with upcoming series Ben and Kate, 666 Park Avenue and Animal Practice, ITV don't have much US content only Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl but with the latter finishing this year I guess they ddecided to update their catalogue.

Sadly it doesn't get much better than 'decent', though hopefully season 2 will be a step up. Needs more time travel shenanigans. SyFy has broadcasting rights in America now, so that extra revenue might keep it going a little longer.
