Yeah asides from Quinn and Danny (who, at the moment we don't know made it or not... I'd imagine he did) there wasn't anybody else involved in that scene that we as an audience knew at all, so seemed obvious Quinn would make it.

He's blatantly got a love/hate thing going on with Carrie - wonder how long it is before they start bumpin uglies?

Somebody else mentioned in the UK speed thread that they figured Brody would end up being a double agent... but now it looks like he could be a 're-doubled' agent. Things can start getting a little silly if they go down that route though?

Quintuple agent?!

I hope it doesn't get too silly. I reckon the writers just want us to have that doubt about Brody's loyalties that we had in S1.

 Well... that raid was surprising. Really like not knowing who Brody is really helping, but I think he still wants to avenge Issa.

 Yes, that was Abu Nazir. At least that was what I was assuming too.

For some reason, despite enjoying Homeland, I also get really irritated by it. Every episode is Brody having a headache with his family, Carrie being told repeatedly NOT to do something and then just doing it anyway, and her and Brody having some kind of emotional or physical union.

The weird thing is, if we use the 24 comparison, Homeland is not as formulaic as that and I loved 24, but for some reason it's starting to grind my gears...

 I actually liked where the hit'n'run story was going this week. Dana breaking down to her mother, how she feels she's a murderer, it was really well played, I thought. AS A PARENT (yay, people LOVE that phrase right?) I could totally see Brody's meltdown reaction as believable - that frustration at having his hands tied utterly when his daughter absolutely wants to do the right thing. That has to be hard.

And I can't hate Carrie, even if she is a bit mental. I've had a soft spot for Claire Danes ever since Romeo + Juliet. Stardust just solidified it. She's lovely.





It's quite fun watching Homeland and then Boardwalk Empire and thinking, blimey, it really didn't work out too well for those Stardust characters, eh?

I was actually going to say I really enjoyed this week's episode, in comparison to previous ones. And I gave up on Boardwalk Empire after Season 1 as I thought it was dull!

So Quinn is meant to take Brody out once they've got Nazir?

Can't see what happened in ep 9 being the real attack, though.

Boardwalk Empire has got better and better.

In hindsight I really enjoyed the episode but it really did pale in comparison to the Boardwalk Empire one which was honestly one of the best TV episodes I've ever seen.

Again, for some unknown reason to me I continue to watch it and actually keep being engrossed, despite my many grievances with it, and thinking that exact same thing while watching the latest episode. Also, 'bit' ridiculous is a gross understatement.

This is getting too far fetched and stupid.

Apparently these things can be done, but it's more of the fantastical aspects of it like Brody searching the VP's office or Nasir abducting Carrie, or helicopters scooping up Brody... Too much!

And yet... I'm enjoying it. Even as I sit there and know it's stupid!

It's funny, I care more about Saul/Estes/Quinn than I do about Carrie/Brody/Nasir.

Oh.... and interesting how Danny turns up all of a sudden eh?!?!?

 Absolutely agree that this has jumped the shark. Ultra-patriot Carrie covering up the assassination of the VP? I don't think so. What car was she driving home? How was she not escorted to a hospital? How has she been allowed get away with the shit she's getting away with?

It's making the number of times Jack Bauer would go against authority almost seem realistic.


As for the latest episode, again I didn't really care. I am going to see out the series, but I am seriously skeptical that I will bother come series three. Also, despite my initial impression that she was a decent character, this whole Dana storyline is a real pain. I find myself hating every second that she is on screen.

The final episode needs to be amazing if it's going to get me to come back for a third series.

The last two episodes took a sharp plunge into stupidity.

How does Brody still have access to the vice president??
How did the entire FBI miss the hideyhole??
How was Carrie left alone with one agent when the show makes a specific point of saying they work in pairs??
Why did Brodys daughter get so much air time??

I have only watched the first episode of season two so far but I get the idea that it is not worth carrying on. Is this right? Should I just leave it? I didn't think much of the opening episode of s2 to be honest.

Up to about episode five it is enjoyable and well worth the watch. Since then, its been an abomination.
