In a future update will it be possible to incorporate the word define option? Holding finger on word will give option for define. It's really the only thing missing.

Hello,

I was just wondering if there was any update on being able to transfer/get for free my magazine subscription so I can get the iPad instead/as well as?

Chris.

James, Now be honest you have no intention of offering the IPad addition to the mag subscribers in the near future do you ? I suspect a reboot of the Batman Francise Directed by McG will have been and gone and YOU will still be wheeling out the excuse of "we are looking into it". To paraphrase, you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can fool all of the people all of the time. So go away and get it sorted, and please stop patronising us you sanctimonious Monkey, Regards

Will there be pinch to zoom on pictures (and maybe even text) anytime soon?
Oh, and by the way... the app is awsome and so is the content.

Thanks

PInch to zoom on pages as a whole is something we won't offer as it goes contrary to the design - that's really the domain of PDF mags. Being able to enlarge images would be nice but you'd need to embed Hi-Res versions of the images, which would be a pain and pad the file size. So the answer, unfortunately, is probably not. If you enlarged the images as they are then they'd be very pixellated so probably wouldn't help all that much.

Hi James,

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere else, but I can't find it so am going to ask anyway.

Is it possible to access my Empire iPad subscription on multiple devices?

Thanks,

Best film mag ever, and no android version. As I have vowed to go paperless, I will miss your magazine, having read it since issue 1!
Au revoir. :(

Android will come. At present there's no Adobe software for Android (well, there is but it's in beta). Once they make it available then we'll start to look at a possible port.

Hi James,
Thanks for replying; I do hope Empire moves quickly on this. I must be honest, I think it has eithjer been a mis-step or you have a deal with Apple, because everyone else seems to have moved to android and for half the price. For now I am having to buy Total Film which is not in the same standard BUT I don't want to get used to it, lol. (Though I might add it's only 1.99 per issue!)

I imagine you'd need to redo your registration, then you should be able to log out within the app and log back in with your new registration (with correct details).

Hi, I've had the iPad edition for a year with no problems.

It's just auto renewed, but now won't download the issues.

The app is asking me to sign in with a customer number which I don't have.

Please help, I need my Empire fix!

I was going to buy a digital subscription for my Windows 8 tablet, but decided to see if you supported it first. The advert in the magazine that is giving away the ESB book, doesn't state what platform the digital edition will work on. Looking at this forum, it doesn't look like there is a Windows 8 version. Any plans for a Windows tablet version, or are the users of these devices going to have to wait just as long as the Android users?

No plans for Windows, I'm afraid. Android is still only a page-turner at this stage (as opposed to a full interactive version) but we may be able to do something similar with Windows down the line.

Hi James,

I have a problem; when I bought my digital subscription, nowhere did it say that in the future, the App would only work with iOS 6 or later; however, I am unable to download the latest edition because the App requires an update... which is only for, yes, you guessed it, iOS 6.

This leaves me in a bit of a predicament because my iPad (1st gen) will not support an iOS later than 5.1.1 (which I have), therefore, I am unable to receive the content I have bought.

Obviously I don't expect your tech people to change the App, and I have no intention of buying a new iPad when the one I have serves me perfectly well, so I'm wondering whether it's possible to receive a partial refund because so far, I have received three out of the twelve issues I've paid for, which seems a bit of a bum deal.

Any advice as to who I contact about this, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi James,

I'd like to echo The Goktor's post. I was really disappointed to discover that my iPad 1 can no longer download my Empire subscription. Is there any way that I can be refunded for content that I have paid for but that I now cannot access?

Thanks, Loidis

Update: It's now working again! Great! Thanks for resolving this.

Hi,

Could you please provide instructions on how I can get the 5 ipad subscription for print subscribers.
as my free introductory 6 month "loyalty" trial subscription has just finished.

The in-app subscribe button only appears to offer full price subscriptions.

Logged into my greatmagazines web account and tried to renew the now expired Empire Digital edition, but this just keeps asking for a Promotion Code which I don't have...so this is a dead end.

On selecting the still active print edition subscription, there is an upgrade to print and digital for 5 link. This just leads to an endless set of "Amend Options" -> "Continue" -> "Amend Options" -> "Continue" ..... links.

Any help appreciated.

Hi, I have been having same difficulty. It is impossible to activate extra Digital subscription. I have been trying for months now without any luck. Is the subscription working for everyone? Just to be clear, I live in Europe not in Northern America.

Thank you for any advice how to activate Digital subscription.
