Akira in America I can deal with, Blade Runner sequels I can't. JD Caruso is a good director for semi-intelligent thrillers (Disturbia is a great Friday night in film) but he will fuck this up. I've never even read the comics but I absolutely understand how difficult it's going to be to transfer to a watchable, saleable, entertaining movie that appeals to the masses as well as not straying too far from the source material to piss off the fans. This just won't work. He's not good enough. They should let it go once and for all.

This is one of the best comic stories of all time so I really hope he can get the right cast in. I loved Disturbia but this is a totally different kettle of fish... Am hopeful but VERY worried that this could end up a B movie with the wrong kind of balance between the horror and love elements. Lets hope I'm wrong. Watchmen was a good film so fingers crossed.
