I've just seen your thread about recommendations and was about to suggest FOTR! Towers and King are just as good.

Listened to Gladiator and Bronson OST's today. Gladiator I've had for years and not heard in ages and forgot how good Zimmer's score for it was. Bronson's OST is a really eclectic mix; full of heavy opera and 80's synth pop and every song on it is fantastic, a great selection.

while not as good as Batman this is still a good score from Danny Elfman to a underrated film.

Thanks to the wonder of Spotify, I'm listening to a little bit of Silvestri's Captain America score. I'm not listening to the whole thing as I'd rather experience it on the big screen with the accompanying visuals but what I've heard so far is fantastic.

There's a hint of Kamen's Band of Brothers to it, but it's the shades of Predator & echoes of Back to the Future that I love. This could be a new classic Silvestri score.

As an illustrator, I love having mood music in the background and often rely on a shuffled playlist. At the moment this comprises of Danny Elfman's Wolfman score, lots of Clint Mansell (heavy on Moon & The Fountain) and a bit of Zimmer for my sins - Angels & Demons being a current fave.

As much as I admired Williams' and Hooper's entries in the Potter musicverse, it's Doyle's bombastic score that most evokes the feel of the books. It's muscular when it needs to be (Quidditch World Cup), whimsical (Rita Skeeter), emotional (Harry in Winter) and foreboding (The Goblet of Fire). But it's with the tri-wizard tasks and the series-best Voldemort cue that truly amaze me. I can't help but think that the slightly flat finale of Deathly Hallows would have been elevated to truly epic status had Doyle been on scoring duties instead of the mediocre score that Desplat provided.

Lovely stuff, with a brilliant old school main theme of the type that they just don't seem to write anymore.

Not heard this in years, such a brilliant, eclectic arrangement from the great Vangelis:

After seeing all the films I'm giving the soundtracks a run though. Not listen to this one fully in about 5 years, but it's a great score, perfect for the film and the more light-hearted story. Hedwig's Theme is one of the best theme tunes from the last decade.

Oh! It's brilliant isn't it!?
Can't wait for the sequel's music!!!
Hopefully he comes up with more themes, because I loved every theme in that one (I never woke up in handcuffs before, discombobulate)
But his 18 minute song (Psychological recovery) is just amazing. I could listen to that for ages!

Yep, I love the Holmes score. One of Zimmer's very best.

Fawkes the Phoenix is a great track.
