Too bad - for all it's flaws, A-Team was very enjoyable entertainment, despite a plot that made no sense whatsoever. Casting and characterisation were pretty much spot on, although Jessica Biel flounced around like a model rather than convincing in any way as an army officer. Also, the setup for the final setpiece plan was terrifically inventive (although the sequence itself featured unacceptably shoddy CGI).

Is it fair to say that the totally unexpected success of The Expendables had an impact on the takings and reception for other action movies out last year? A-Team undeniably underperformed, so it's hardly surprising that there won't be a sequel. Similarly, The Losers seemed to get lots of positive advance coverage (from Empire in particular), yet good luck finding anyone who actually watched it at the cinema.

Gotta say I'm gutted. The whole movie set up the "crime they didn't commit" bit and the next movie could have been a balls to the wall "soldiers of fortune" movie. I've been excited about an A-team movie since the original cast were still young/alive enough to star in it. I enjoyed the first one but it could have been improved. shame there'll be no second crack of the whip to make the improvements... or shoehorn in a cameo for Mr T for that matter.
off to rewatch my box sets

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed the film, I felt like it covered every possible scenario that the film could have taken and actually thought that if they did a sequel it would be much of the same thing.

Glad to finally have a decent film and it be kept at one film.

Not sure if it's a good idea or not as afterall Clash Of The "BLOODY AWFULL" Titans managed to get 1.

As 'Rampage' would say 'That's bullshit'. Without being specific I am a specops veteran who loves to watch The A Team. I'm watching it again for what is probably about the tenth time. I also have my Master Degree in Consumer Psychology and it the studio made the bone headed decision to open the movie during the World Cup then that is the poor decision of the studio. I personally would have fit it in, but there are a lot of cry babies in today's society. Anyway, the studio needs to make a sequel and consult me before initiating any marketing action.

I so want a sequel to the A-Team movie... If they can make crap like a night at the museum 2 & bloody Fockers movies... which "were" crap then why can't they get the funding to make another A-Team? I love Liam Neeson & Bradley Cooper & they were just fantastic in the movie, in fact they all played their characters amazingly & I would love to see them back again for a sequel... I'm gonna keep praying & hoping for a second A-Team movie! ;)

Great Cast, Average script, Bad Director - 6/5/2011 2:31:17 PM

I pity the exec who decided to scrap John Singleton from the film and offer it to the guy who give the world smoking ace's. The Cast was inspired but not given enough scope or a script that allowed them to show the well rounded characters that we got from the TV series and the tepid story was lack luster to say the least. It would have been a GREAT film if given to the right director instead of a action junky with a camera who has no idea of how to string a coherent and interesting story together. Ooh if only the studio could have had the funds to intice Martin Campbell what a film franchise that would have been. Never mind in a few more years we might hopefully get a reboot with Woody Harrelson as Hannibal, Chris Hemsworth as Face, a new young fresh acting talent as B.A, and Joseph Gordon Lovett as Murdoch

The A-Team movie seems to have suffered from two problems only: firstly, being released during the World Cup Soccer and secondly, bad movie reviews! One the first problem, being from South Africa where the World Cup was hosted, I apologize to the guys for this! On the second problem, in my opinion, movie reviewers cannot, and should not, always be trusted to the letter of their writing, and you shouldn’t put all your faith in their reviews only! It would be a shame not to have seen this movie because of harsh reviews: The A-Team movie was brilliant – I’ve seen it about seven times so far, and I just can’t get enough of the “new” team. I grew up watching The A-Team on television, and along with MacGyver, it was my favourite show! I’m an A-Team fanatic and I absolutely love the movie!

Anyone who followed the process of the movie would probably have read somewhere that it would be grittier, etc. etc. than the original series. It was never promised to be an exact copy of the original TV series, which it should not have been anyway and fortunately wasn’t. The movie pays homage to the original, while being totally different and standing on its own two feet!! Which is exactly what it should, and did, do! Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton Jackson are all brilliant actors who have brought our favourite characters back to life, while at the same time making them just that much different so that no one could accuse them of trying to be carbon copies of George Peppard, Dirk Benedict, Dwight Schultz and Mr. T. The A-Team movie is a reboot, not a remake, which (as I’ve pointed out about three times already) wasn’t the idea from the start.

Give the guys another go at a second A-Team movie: they are willing to do it, and we would LOVE to see it, so there!! Problem solved!! Liam, Bradley, Sharlto, and Rampage have got the Jazz, so let them use it!! Do the sequel!!

My whole family(and I have a massive family!) are pissed because this movie franchise could only get better and better. All the first movie did, was tell you how they ended up on the run. The next movie would be about how they'd help people. I can't believe they don't want to do more of these movies!

Was a great movie; well acted, decent script (considering it was an action adventure shoot-em-up, it was actually a *great* script for that genre) with snappy dialogue and mostly good pacing (a few spots lagged).
If nothing else, the line "No, they're trying to fly that tank" is an absolute instant classic (reminds me of "We sank a truck" from Operation Petticoat)!
Of course, it was a niche movie, and not one the younger generation would be particularly familiar with, so it suffered there. D/N know abt the World Cup timing, but studios are infamous for making stupid mistakes that hinder sales, and blaming the movie for underperforming.
Great movie stupid studio (oh look, it's Fox. . WHAT a surprise. . The same parent company that kept cancelling Joss Whedon's shows until he abandoned them. . and made the biggest box office hit ever . . Yeah, that's Fox for ya.

That is such a shame. I only just saw it on freeview but I loved it! If there was another one I for one would definitely pay to see it...
