Welcome all.

Images vary slightly on what browser you are using, but you can add them in the text by either clicking on the image button above the message body to get [image][/image] code or you can type it in manually.

Insert the image url link in between [image] http://www.medizen.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/welcome.jpg [/image] though without any spaces and you will get

Thanks for the welcome guys.

While we're on the topic of images and such where do I go to download an avatar for my account? I looked in my account and forum preferences but couldn't see an image download option.

There isn't a DL, it's a URL link. You need to link to a pic on the net (or upload one yourself to a free host like photobucket) then put it into the enter URL line. Empire don't host avatars themselves.

Hello! Or, hej, as we say in Denmark...where I'm originally from.

Well, so, I guess I'm supposed to give a quick intro so you'll know who I am when I start roaming around the threads...
I'm a girl, I'm 26... I love my friends but to them films are something you watch and then go "Well that was nice, now what shall we do?"...so I'm sort of hoping that I can find some nice talks and debates to get into here!

My favourite film is too hard to decide on, as there's loads who all are favourites in their own way, but the film I've probably seen the most times is Jurassic Park. Take what you will from that. :)

I think that's it... See you out there!

Hej! The T-REX ATTACK SCENE from JP is masterfully constructed. The pacing, the sound design, the Stan Winston robot Rex used in all the best close up shots.. terrifying, and as brilliant a piece of filmmaking as I've ever seen. I've watched that sequence more times than I can count.

Same goes for the reveal of the dinosaurs, with Satler and Grant's jaws hitting the floor. Spielberg was on top of his game with his work on JP (though the film runs is a little light on narrative in the second half, and IMHO suffers for it. Koep's script is not the film's best asset).

Anyway, glad to have you join us.

Oh completely agreed! This is defo one of his masterpieces - my favourite scene though - apart from the T-rex snesking up on the jeeps has to be the one where they're hiding behind a log, watching the herd being eaten by t-rex. Fantastic scene! Stunning effects!
The script is, granted, a bit lacking in the 2nd but; this might be a sign of a struggle to avoid being a King Kong copy? (as the 2nd tragically and awfully is)

The T-Rex JEEP CHASE is another excellent scene. "OBJECTS IN MIRROR MAY BE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR"

Hiya.

I'm new.

I would love to say something incredibly intellectual and foriegn was my favourite film, and when I was younger I would make such claims (now 33). My favourite film is actually Bad Boys, followed closely by Role Models.

The only woman I would cheat on my wife with is Leslie Mann. She is cool with that (my wife, not Leslie Mann)

Nice to meet all y'all.

Surely Leslie Mann would be cool with that too?

Hello all,

Having conducted my tactical sweep of the perimeter I now deem it safe (or as safe as it's likely to get) to come out of my rabbit hole and introduce myself. This is in no way connected to promises of cake for I already know the cake to be a lie. In any case, some carrots are far more my style. I love film, games, Tv, books and interesting debates with colourful characters... ideally in a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but I'll settle for the empire forums.
