I would guess that most of you on this forum have seen this online by now. It was all over Twitter this morning and I have to say that it is the most impressive game trailer I have ever seen. Cinematic and bleak, atmospheric and intriguing.

Actual gameplay and footage may end up disappointing in comparison but if you haven't already, hunt the trailer out (it's at the usual places but I watched it on IGN.com). You certainly won't forget it.

Makes me want to buy a 360 at the promise...

Saw this yesterday.  I like the premise, hopefully the gameplay lives up to that cinematic.

It's pretty damn tasty isn't it?

I don't know anything about the game though, is it going to be like Dead Rising but on an island with hopefully much more substanance? Imagine GTA Zombies. Awesome.

But since this was first due to hit in 2008 I think we've a long wait on our hands.

From what I have read it is going to be a sandbox game but first person rather than third (sorry I only know what Left 4 Dead looks like, is Dead Rising also third person?). All of the combat is going to be close range "melee" based so you will have to pick up more everyday objects/potential weapons scattered around the hotel complex and larger island. These wil degrade the more you use them. There are not going to be guns and ammo scattered everywhere. Sounds fascinating and potentially tense and panic-inducing.

That trailer is incredible and better than the entire Dead Rising franchise.

Dead Rising is 3rd person and whilst can be fun, has some serious gameplay flaws.

I'm glad to hear that it's sandbox, hopefully a little GTA With Zombies. Sounds good. Look forward to its release!

Saw the trailer last night, it is quite incredibly beautiful - loved the concept and music - and hoped it was a sequel of sorts to Dead Rising 2 (which I have been enjoying loads, never played the first but after a bit I really got in to it and the range of weapon combinations is great fun) so I was a bit disappointed to see that it's first-person (PS3 guy here so haven't played much Left4Dead) as I thought that after all the city/shopping malls a beach island resort would be great for a third-person continuation.
Although from what I've read it's been in development in some form since 2007, not quite Duke Nukem lengths but hopefully it shows it with the quality of the actual game and not pre-rendered stuff like the trailer.

Will keep an eye on it in the future, if not to play it but at least for any other amazing trailers!

Saw this yesterday. Amazing trailer, so emotional. I'll be suprised if the actual game can live up to the hype generated by this trailer.

Another zombie game.

Someone should make a game based in a game developer's office because that would be THE ULTIMATE ZOMBIE GAME.

That is a freakin' amazing trailer.  If it was for a TV Show or movie I would be signing on right now, but as it's for a Game I will hold out until I see some Gameplay.
I've fallen for this before.

I'm with DC, like the WWII genre 5 or 6 years ago, Zombie games are now suffering from over kill. Admittedly this different approach looks interesting, but the game industry needs a new fad.

Sounds like an cool trailer. My piece of crap laptop can't handle the awesomeness of the video...

How many Zombie games are out there? Off the top of my head I can only think of Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead which tells me that Borstal is right and there should be more...Zombies make life better, it's pretty much scientific fact.

Was the latest Wolfenstein not a zombie game too?

I have little faith in this game despite the rather good trailer. For starters there is not one single shot of actual gameplay footage in there. Also, looking at the developer's previous titles doesn't instil much optimism. So far Techland's only games of note are the so-so Call of Juarez and the so-so nail'd. The publisher (Deep Silver which is owned by Koch Media) hasn't published anything great either. Most of it's releases are PC expansion packs and mediocre console releases. Also, this game was revealed way, way back in May 2006. And people moaned that GT5 took ages to come out!

That trailer may have generated lots of internet chatter and hype and gotten the title noticed when it probably would have otherwise flown under the radar, but I feel that it will come at quite a cost. Many people will be expecting great things from it and be immediately forming their own opinions on what it could/should be like and they'll probably be very disappointed when they do see actual footage or play it for themselves. Still, it may surprise me... but I doubt it.

And there's currently a game in works based on the Walkling Dead graphic novel / TV series:

Nice CG skills, but shows nothing that could promise an actually good game. Rewind effects are old too, I dont get all this gushing online today.

Honestly that's not that many considering your dragging the whole Resident Evil series into this, plus add ons & game modes. Sure we've seen a fair few this gen but I think there's still thing's to be done with it, and a lot of the games from your list are great games.
