My non-geek friends have always referred to it as Geek-Fest so I'm not entirely sure an official name change will make much of a difference to me!

My non-geek friends have no appreciation for the finer things in life. I should disown them now.

My Moviecon heritage is as follows...Year one the security guard who looks like George Michael told me my "Flash" t-shirt was cool and i was the very last guy to have his Watchmen signed by Dave Gibboins and the last guy on the videoblogisode with Chris proclaiming my love for Statham!....Year 2 i won the t-shirt com with my Christian Bale t-shirt, but had to leave early to get flights home to Ireland so no prize...Year 3 i made a t-shirt especially for Chris (Bromance with Statham) and had a blast at Waterloo Travelodge with Samantha Tanney and Dallas Belmont. I missed out on properly meeting Y2Neil but will rectify that this year.

Year 4...Will win t-shirt comp...watch this space!

Hope that qualifies me for a Moviecon VIP ticket!!

I'm in Yorkshire right now and it wouldn't take long to get to the capital.  In fact, if you're having a national event then it is the best place for transport links in the country.

*and in fact this isn't the first london-based Empire event.  A wonderful precedent has been set....*

He's right. Can't we move it away from the nations capital and biggest city with the biggest population, and move it to the Outer Hebrides. Movie stars will definitely be willing to go there. Im not sure where we will cram 2500 people but not to worry, we can do itoutside.

Yeah there's a bunch of us who come from Scotland and I know many come from Ireland too. We don't complain. It's where Empire is based and transport and accommodation are easy to use/find.

HAHA THE PERSON COMPLAINING HAS DELETED THEIR POST.

I wondered where that had gone! Now we look like we've started talking about Yorkshire and the Outer Hebrides for no apparent reason.

Bad form. Stand behind what you say, or concede that you might have been wrong! Don't just try to erase the whole thing!

Edited for appalling typing.

OK, Just booked my 2 register of interest tix. So just to clarify, now we wait until May for the final prices and schedule of events, before deciding on refund of reservastion fee or purchase of tickets to the actual event. Roll on May!

I believe tickets for the weekend in last year's event, Movie Con III, were around £50? Given this is 'bigger and better', I'm guessing it will be a bit more, but surely not over £100?

Well, we will soon find out! - I have reserved my place

As they say on Dragon's Den. I'm out. What a shame but £300 for 2 X 3 day Diamond Tickets pass, plus the necessary travel/parking, and/or accommodation is too much for me and the wife. As good as it might be I guess I am not one of the hardcore.

How do those who paid a £10 deposit per person but now decide to opt out get refunded?

That's a shame :/ Well I'm going for the 3-day diamond (£150) plus the extra £15 for front seats (hopefully!) and with the London Travelodge it will all come to about £235. I'll be going with my brother so times that by two and that's a lot of money! But I'm sure it will be worth it - even without seeing the schedule I can see how massive it will be just by looking at the film companies involved.

I remember all the other Movie Cons and I will still think of this as one of them... but bigger. Bring on Big Screen!

I think it's on the Empire Online board (search for a thread called "Title changes..." which deals with requests for personalised profile captions)

Just to let people know I searched back through my credit card bill to the beginning of March and See Tickets have not ever actually taken the £20 for the 2 deposits to secure a booking slot. So it's possible you do not need to formally ask for a refund. It's just kind of held there I think until you opt to buy the full Big Screen ticket.

I logged onto their site and put in my booking reference number from my March Email confirmation, and using the link have sent their customer service department an email just to clarify that this is the case. I'll report back here what their response is...

Hi, the money definitely came out of my account (March 21st) so I sent a reply to my priority booker message (mine came from michelle.kyles@clarionevents.com) asking how to go about getting the money back and she eventually got back to me saying that she's forwarded my message on to SEE tickets to arrange the refund.
This was only a couple of days ago so no refund yet, but at least it's a response...
Fingers crossed

Since I am going to the event I was wondering if people know when the tickets will be posted to the customers and do you know who's going to be there on each day.
