Right I've had a bit of a play and can report the following

Maps - like COD, but better; more destruction etc. a bit too frantic for my liking

The Game modes are very similar - CQ dom is just CQ with smaller teams

but GM (gun master) is great fun; start out with a pistol and move up the weapons until you're armed with just a knife. great for getting those handgun ribbons too - I can see alot of time being taken up with this one

Intruiged by this. The best parts of BF3, in my opinion, were the moments most like COD. Frantic close combat in alleyways etc. 

So GM is Gun Game from COD? Is this just a conversion game pack or something?

Which is gun game from Counter Strike...

It's actually good fun and gets pretty tense when there are a few people up around level 16. I've only won one game so far.

yeah it's just like the one from Blops - I can't remember if you get demoted for getting stabbed in Blops, you do in BF3

it is pissing hard though, and great fun, I just need to finish in the top 5 once to complete an assignment and I'm constantly 6th (even though I have the same level as 4/5)

Oh I know! Loved GG on CS back in the day. I was just wondering is it he exact same? After all the competition between CoD and BF I am just surprised that BF is blatantly copying CoD's...copy. If you catch my drift.

 Yeah but most game modes in shooters are the same or very similar. There's very little new they can do.

On a side note, I don't think Dice are putting this out just to steal some of the CoD players away which is what a lot of people are thinking. It's not going to bring anyone new over who hasn't already played and enjoyed the main multi player. I doubt people who prefer CoD are going to fork out for the game and then the DLC just to play 4 maps because it looks similar to CoD.

I really like it for a change of pace but I'll still always go back to the big maps more often than the Close Quarters. Most servers seem to be one or the other. I'm hoping people will start to mix them in together.

 Close Quarters is awesome, me and my shotgun are having the best of times. Gun Master is awesome too, it's the only thing I liked in Black Ops. It's all a nice change of pace and by change of pace I mean it's fucking insane and the moment you stop moving and shooting you will die.

 Got the last of the DLC achievements last night. They were ok, a bit too easy and weren't nearly fun enough. Hoping for some better ones with Armoured kill and maybe throw in some more but for less points. Giving 20G for falling off a building?

 It really isn't as bad as some people are making it out to be. It's easy enough to find good servers and then you can just favourite the ones which suit you best and continue to play in them. There are thousands of servers and most of them are fine.
