Im happy whenever its released. Theres a half term at the end of October usually so that will be good for me. Presuming shopto get it out early Im on it straight away but definately up for some Empire night huge battle if we can get the figures.

I like the news that supression now gets rewarded. Playing Battlefield BC2 I kept thinking that although suppression helps the squad it seemed unfair that you didnt get a reward for it.

This is good! I will be rewarded massively on this game then. Where did you read this by the way? Link?

I just hope that not all the maps are in the damn desert. I think the middle east has been done to death. Greener pastures please.

I've never played a Battlefield game, but everything I've seen so far of part 3 looks awesome, so may pick this up.

I've seen Battlefield Bad Company 2 pretty cheap, which I presume is this games successor, is it any good? Worth picking up for 15?

Thing is, I don't play shooters online (just not my thing) so I enjoy good single player campaigns. The COD games have really short, but quite good single player games, but I rarely re-visit them, finish em once and then trade in. How does Battlefield 2 stack up in terms of single player? Is it long/short? Boring? Exciting? I beleive it's by the same guys that did the latest Medal Of Honour? Bearing in mind I enjoyed that, but thought it was pretty short and traded in after one play through, do you think I'll get much out of Battlefield 2?

I honestly thought the campaign was pretty average. Not sure I even finished it. Online was really good though, you should give it a go.

BC2 is an offshoot of the Battlefield series (ie Battlefield 2) . The campaigns on the Bad Company games are pretty short and I think quite easy.

The last MoH was by different developers on the campaign but DICE did the multiplayer which played very similar to a Battlefield game.

Seen a lot of people slagging it off but that looks really good to me, granted not as good as the PC game but still...

It has a great first mission I think and the rest of it is good fun but it's not amazing. It's just a bit of silly fun really, don't think I enjoyed it any less than MW2 campaign but the multiplayer in BC2 is the real draw.

Probably gaming PC owners. They can be quite aloof at times.

Make sure youve pre-ordered BF3

That's just been announced as being free for everyone after a short time...

I don't think there's a deader (is that a word?)  cert for a day 1 purchase though.

It still looks pretty great I think. Was never gonna be as smooth as PC so I don't see why people are complaining. There are sections in BC2 which are stunning I think so an improvement on that will be great.

Agree. And it wont be an average gaming pc either. I imagine the majority of pc gamers wont get it looking as good as that initial trailer.

Absolutely!!!!! I think any PC games trailer will always be shown on a High-End Pc Gaming System to show it off to it's full potential and any sane person should realise this!

Anyway, who actually gives a shit?

Haven't seen this news, so not sure what you mean,  but if you mean Spawn Killing or Base Raping, then you can do one!
It's the height of uncoolity.

Me and the guys I play with have a rule that we only suppress (push into the spawning ground) if we have every base taken on Conquest.

On a Separate note, the Console footage, isn't quite a pant-wettingly awesome, but it looks pretty good to me.

Yes, but this isn't war.  It's a game.

Also, I can't see how insta-killing people as soon as they spawn is fun for either side.

I don't think it's about 'insta-killing' or 'base-raping' but suppressing the enemy by firing loads of bullets from your LMG in their general direction (anywhere on the battlefield, not just at spawn points), forcing them into cover.

Pretty much getting points for missing shots.

It is amazing how few people actully do this for their teammates. Any number of times I have seen my team reaching a box, and fired my gun in the general direction of the area where the other side are attacking from. I may not hit anyone but it causes confusion, slows them down and allows the objective to be taken.

One which is based on warfare. You'll be saying we can't 'flank' next!

Supression rarely gets kills and therefore any points. Supression simply slows the opposition down, a valid tactical maneouver in a similation of a battlefield engagement.

Thats your own made up definition of supression and not what supression means in a combat situation. Trust me, Ive been there. Theyre not just in the jungle....they are the jungle.

Both of these are examples of supression.

Thats because up until now it hasnt been rewarded and most people are selfish rather than indulging in a spot of teamwork.

I suppress! I'm a team player and I understand your frustration! These games are meant to be all about team-work but there are too many who go 'lone gunman' and die a million times for the troubles. What can I say, they are just plain SHIT!

OMG the medic class has gone!!

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/310914/battlefield-3-multiplayer-sees-significant-class-changes/

Ok maybe not gone completely...

I always get big team points as a medic! Essential for leveling up in multiplayer.

Nice Spaced quote there borstal lol

The teamwork aspects of this game are amazing - a couple of selfless medics on the side can really turn the tide in any Rush games.
