Ok, I need a new game and I'm thinking either this or Dragons Dogma but from what I'm reading Dark Souls may actually make me throw my Xbox through a window. Is that a possibility whilst playing? I really have no patience for getting beaten by the A.I. in any game.

My controller got thrown a fair few times in Demon's Souls.

Have yet to unleash my anger in Dark Souls, but that's largely because I now know what to expect, and am playing the game in the spirit it is intended (DIE LOTS!!) ;)

As for Dragon's Dogma, that really is a great game - and worth getting the new Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen release, as that's the new game and the new expansion in one lovely package. It's a very different game though, more like an RPG done in the style of Ray Harryhausen. Not as hard as the Souls series, but as engaging for sure.

Got this yesterday when it was on sale. It's rather good so far, I'm terrible and died about 30 times trying to kill the first boss.

Wasn't aware that it had multiplayer either, some fucker invaded my game or whatever and destroyed me so I rage quit.

Just started the DLC today and I would like to think of myself as experienced in the world of Dark Souls, but the first boss is kicking my ass! Here we go again!

Finally beat him this morning after a good couple of hours of swearing at the console. Because I am playing it on NG+ as the first runthru of this DLC, I have no basis on which to gauge any strategies on the enemies and I am therefore getting fucked over at every possible moment! After beating the first guardian, I ran into a 'normal' enemy that used a club larger than my entire character Laughing at him when I rolled and avoided it as he buried it into the ground having missed me, imagine my horror as I died when seconds later, he thrust upwards with the club and killed me instantly with a hit from below! 1400 health gone in one hit!

Praise the sun!

When i've finished the Dishonered DLC this is my next port of call, i've never been so apprehensive to start a computer game!!!
Wish me luck

Good luck. But mainly enjoy. It's a great, great game.

Also, don't look everything up. It's tempting, but discovering stuff yourself is a major part of the fun.

How good is this game
I was struggling at first & got seriously pissed off as i was spending 2 hours a day on the first boss fight!!!. But the thing i learnt about this game is each boss fight is a marathon not a sprint plus after leveling up and getting better gear it got easier...only a bit mind
Anyway just beat Quelaag & i'm now off to fight a dragon.
Praise the sun.

I absolutely hated this game to start with but once I got into the swing of it it's an incredibly well designed and challenging game. Yup it's a bastard but uber rewarding when you get it right.

Bloody Hell - Tried to do the final boss on NG+ yesterday and I could not believe how much he kicked my ass. Joypad breaking kicked my ass! I tried going human so that I could summon some help but the Kiln of the First Flame is a breeding ground for invading so I have got to do it alone. I turned it off in a huff last night. I hate/love this game...

When you say a breeding ground for invading do you mean from xbox live players?
If so could you not try it offline?
That's how i roll anyway

Well, I have embarked on another hellish experience where everything will try to kill me and send me to my doom.

Love it already - even if I am totally lost!

Servers are down at the moment so I am playing offline.

EDIT: - Lasted about an hour before dying..... Let it begin!

EDIT 2 :- Death No 2 - 3 minutes later

My copy is on it's way. Can't wait. Screw Titanfall.

Never did finish Dark Souls, I rage quit in the Demon Ruins after some invader fuck killed me after a right slog through all sorts of shit.

I died right away. After a couple of minutes, before I had created my character.

I kind of saw it coming, but figured what the hell... Why not get it out of the way.

Well, this is rather unforgiving. Are you not very good? Do you keep dying? Here, lets make it harder for you by taking half your health. What's that? You like your current weapon, here lets break it just before the boss fight. Good times.

Early on the game felt slightly easier, but it steps up to the plate and wears you down. In true Souls fashion.

All in all a little bit easier than the previous games, but still hard and unforgiving. Loads of people are playing (at least on PS3), so if you just want to beat the game, summon away.

Finished Dark Souls whilst the board was down & apart from early on in the game & the Four Kings boss i honestly didn't think it was that hard.
Once you get used to the mechanics of the game & level up/get better gear it gets easier & easier.
Still awesome though & can't wait to play Dark Souls 2.

I found the final boss the hardest on NG+ Rest of it, not too bad (other than 4 kings again)- but I still start shaking when I think about the final boss.....

I never completed Dark Souls, such a motherfucker of a game. Found Dark Souls 2 much easier, maybe if I went back to it I'd be able to complete it.

I think you'd find it easier now, so it's worth it to give it a shot.

But it is harder than Dark Souls 2.
