That's pretty cool casting news. And yeah, presumably he'll be Neal. That's the full cast rounded out, right? I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that the pilot was filming in July, so maybe not too long till we start seeing set photos.

Couldn't remember where the show was set - quick check of the script showed it's New York. And being HBO, it'll likely be filmed on location, unlike Sports Night and The West Wing. Adds a little something.

Nearing a series order, says Deadline.

Wonder when it'll debut? Maybe a year or so? If anyone at HBO wants to leak the pilot, that'd be swell.

And pickup confirmed.

No word on how many episodes have been ordered, though it's expected to be 10.

And More as the Story Develops has been dropped as the title, new one to come in due course.

Good news on both counts. Terrible title for a show!

Are you still looking for the script? PM me your email address and I'll get it sent!

Show is now called The Newsroom, and here's the first set pic:

It's not been confirmed officially by HBO as it being called 'The Newsroom', but there's enough out there from enough respectable places to suggest it is indeed being called that.

Olivia Munn's Huffington Post page calls it that and also states it will air Summer 2012 (which I think is new info!).

Cast for this just got even better - Terry Crews is going to be in it! He's playing Will's bodyguard Lonny, who had a decent sized role in the pilot script.

The same article from Deadline says Jeff Daniels character is called Will McAvoy, which I think is a slight change from the script.

In the new issue of Empire, in an interview with Dev Patel, it's described as a TV Movie. I assume they're referring to the pilot unless it's NOT going to be a full series now....?

Game of Thrones? Never heard of it. The title has grown on me, I admit.

It looks great, still not sure about the title. It's a 'Sorkin' title, though, isn't it? If the show's awesome, I won't really give a shit about the title

Awesome - especially like the similar Studio 60/Judd Hirsch outburst that will launch the series...

It's done differently in the script. You don't see him deliver the outburst 'live', instead he recounts it to another character later. Guess this way has more impact.

Sam Waterston has a natty dress sense in this, doesn't he?

Nice to see Emily Mortimer and Dev Patel playing British in it.

It essentially looks like Studio 60 but with news instead of comedy. So I'm in.

I get the gender dynamic problems and the facts, the liberalism, the hero etc. it pretty much sums up Sorkin but then it also sums up why (for the most part) I like Sorkin...if it ain't broke..

I'm actually more interested right now with this than Veep.

Veep was pretty much a write-off for me when they cast the lead.

This isn't anything I recognise from Sports Night, which I still rate higher than West Wing and Studio 60. If it's more Sports Night than either of those - and it does seem more that than Studio 60 - then I'm really looking forward to it, but not as much as rewatching Sports Night.

I’ve never seen Seinfeld (yeah, yeah whatever) the only things I really know Dreyfus from are Troll and A Bug’s Life.

Looking forward to it. I liked the non-responses at the start, then bam! Hope Alison Pill has a decent role.

She does. If you're up on your Sports Night, she's the Natalie to Emily Mortimer's Dana.
