Managed to get 2 hours worth of MP playing time tonight & loving it so far. Very COD like in its execution.

Saving the single player for when I have a bit of peace on Saturday.

Dammit - Might have to ebay Homefront now that TheHut.com have already shipped Crysis 2. Only an hour left at work then I'll be off to check if they are any good at delivering pre-orders on time!

Played through the first level on my PC. Can't comment on the rest of the game yet, obviously, but it's played well so far. Graphically it's on another level to any video game I've ever played.

Even on the 360 the graphics are fantastic, especially on the opening section, the water and fire effects are unreal. Haven't had that wow feeling since the opening to Bioshock.

I've only played about an hour so far and I'm loving it, it just plays really well and has an epic feel to it. Seems to be living up to the hype for me so far anyway.

I'm playing through it now on xbox and am really liking the open winded style of the gameplay. Plus the graphics are amazing, and they don't feel wasted in what is effectively another game set in an urban war ground.

Awesome music too.

The multiplayer on this game really is great, one or two maps don't quite click as well as others but I'm sure they'll get more navigable the more they get played. Overall, it's everything CoD wishes it was, with none of the idiots. In a word, perfect.

Christ - I might actually look into this then. Haven't really been inspired by anything on the xbox for a while.

Glad I didn't start on a higher difficulty setting (as I did with dead space 2. & Blops) This game is bloody tough in parts. Probably as I've never been much good at staying stealthy. Much more inclined to go in all guns blazing!

Don't think I have too much further to go now.

What difficulty have you got it on Mr Bumfluff?

I have started mine on normal, but after about 30 mins I left the single player campaign and went headlong into the multiplayer. Pretty good - no Battlefield Vietnam, but still pretty good. Like the armor and stealth aspect of it all to be fair. Had about 90 mins online last night and came top a few times once I had started to get my bearings on some of the maps.

The 2nd out of the 4, which I think was normal?

Recently I've been going straight in on the highest settings to avoid multiple playthroughs & for more of a challenge but I had an idea this may be a little tougher than most games (far cry on the pc had more than it's share of bastard hard bits)

Getting the impression that I'm nearing the end of the campaign. Still hooked though. Can't wait to play through again on super soldier with all my powers and weapon attachments. Also got MP to look forward to.

Also loving the gun that microwaves the aliens into orange goo. Deep fried calamari is always a great delicacy.

aaand Crysis 2 is done. Story was a bit naff, but overall the game was great, I was really getting into the open ended nature of combat, even if I did sneak through the alien infested bit near the end without killing anything. The tension was definitely racking up though...

My sister popped round yesterday and she asked me what was wrong as I seemed a bit distant. I told her a new game was out that everyone was playing and new game itch doesnt go away until you buy the fucker.

I'm not sure how far into the single player campaign I am so far but what the hell is going on with the story? Absolutely ridiculous - I have no idea what is happening. Its just go there - do this. What am I doing? I get the idea that the suit is sorting a cure for whatever it is is going on and the aliens are squid like etc but seriously? It would be nice if someone could explain it to me...

For a lengthy campaign I expected to at least have a clue about what it going on.

That aside there are some really nice graphical touches in the game that make me wish I had a beefy PC to play it on. The good old xbox does struggle at times but the lighting in this game is awesome.

Nothing is completely wowing me yet as it has some kind of grainy filter going on that is starting to grate a little.

Im up to the part where I was ambushed by Cell in the underwater glass room. Just got out and into the streets to face an alien Ed209!

Not tried MP yet but I will do at some point.

Loving the sandbox environments though - I had more trouble facing the Cell at the start of the game - once the Seph show up its not as difficult!

I like the bit where Alcatraz doesn't have any character and falls on his bum at the end of EVERY level.

Yeah, that does become tiresome very quickly & the story makes very little sense at all but the ride is good whilst it lasts.

On to AC Brotherhood next I reckon.

Seriously - if anyone can explain the story - please do!

I have read/heard that collectible emails can be found which add to the story - I cant be arsed with this. It should have a solid cohesive flowing story. This doesn't. Im an all powerful nanosuit toting badass - and havent a clue why!

very impressed so far! Have done about an hour of multiplayer and about 30 mins of single player. Graphics are immense and the MP is definitely great fun
