Someone's been to Ikea...

Made the absolute newbie mistake of going on a Sunday Morning and thinking it would be empty first thing......never again.

We returned on a weeknight at about 6:30 and it was absolutely dead, had the run of the place. Definitely something I learnt from!

I'd like to update my pics but the only books I have at the moment are those I've bought since I moved to England and the rest are at home so it'll be another five months before the two collections meet.

My first ever comic book purchased!! And what a title to buy! Ha ha!! I think the cover art by Glenn Fabry is just magnificent!

Prior to that i've had family members buy me Batman, Supes etc. But this was in 1996, nearly 15 years ago! Blimey! I was a kid! I'd been a fan of Manga Mania, which used to publish the awesome AKIRA comic series, but i would'nt class that as buying a comic, it was more like a magazine WITH a running comic series. THIS was my first real comic, and boy, what a title!!

All my trades I have at University, add that on to the first picture and you just about have all my collection bar a few.

I'm currently tidying up my collection 'comics' as my graphic novels are now stored nicely on shelving. I've purchased a few hundred plastic leaflets and i'm sorting them all into independents and Marvel/DC. Around 75% of my collection is UK reprints though! I didn't realise just how little of the collection is made up of true US comics. Anyway, my collection is looking great already now that i've upgraded from shitty tesco boxes I was using from 1996 that were falling apart and due to condensation and moisture some of the comics had stuck to eachother and caused small tears on the fronts which wasn't nice to see......but now that they're bagged at least it will prevent any further damage and I can easily store them.

Apologies if any of the below are re-posts, I just wanted to post some samples. I haven't taken photos of any of the wolverine unleashed/astonishing spider-man or essential x men issues as they're UK based but I have 3-4 year runs of each title unbroken Looking back at them it makes me want to start up the UK titles again, they were great value for money.

Shot of the collection as a whole - I have another two boxes at work which I need to bring home and i'm awaiting further leaflets.

Terminator #1

Terminator End Game 1-3

Batman/Aliens & Superman/Aliens

Predator Big Game + Predator Kindred

Predator Race War 0-4

Various Fatal Attractions Holo Covers and X-Force 1

Wolverine #3 and part of the weapon x story in marvel comics presents

Hulk 2099 - 1-4

Avengers United 1 (UK)

ASM 425 with wraparound cover. Sensational Spiderman 1, Spiderman 1 and a random issue of Spiderman. Even back in 97/98 Romitas art was just epic.

An almost complete collection of Spiderman Flashback minus one issues. I'm just missing Untold Tales I think.
