If the movie is on for a May/June 2012 release (what happened to March 2012?) when do you think we'llstart to see official pics/teaser trailer? Anyone think they'll release anything at any of the cons over summer? Also, I'm guessing that with the scale and cost of this film, Fox need to get buzz out early. However, if it is really going to be a large scale R rated tentpole sci fi movie, what big Fox films can they advertise with? I cant think of a single large scale Fox film due for the remainder of this year, there must be some surely?!

Anyway, my only worry with Prometheus is Charlize Theron. I cant think of a film of her's Ive really enjoyed. Devils Advocate? Hmm, maybe. Monster? Nah, couldnt get on with it. Aeon Flux? I forgot it existed till I saw it in Film4's listings for this week. Er...

Theron will be fine. Have no worries with that cast.

As for releasing of info - they will be at Comic Con, so I expect the Expo footage will be played there. Rise of the Planet of the Apes will be out shortly afterwards which could have a teaser trailer attatched. It is the last big genre film Fox has out this year so I would expect something then.

Last I heard, one of the big reasons Fox liked Damon Lindelof's new script was because not only did it lower the budget but also made it PG-13.

Actully I think the lower budget was what let Scott make his R rated picture. Previously it cost too much for an R.

Yep heard that. Seems to the cast have let a few tibits slip but then there are contridictions coming from Scott and others behind the scenes who say the film has NOTHING to do with the Alien series. I don't get it. Why keep it on the down low if it has some connections? Not like anyone would give a toss either way. It either fits in or it doesn't. Don't understand the need for the cloack and daggers concerning the plot. Mind blowing.

 I guess blanket secrecy is easy to control than drip feeding certain information. I for one, love this approach. One of the problems of the modern internet era is you can pretty much see the whole film before you even step into the cinema. All the info I need is a short synopsis, a brief trailer and total surprise when the title card appears on the screen

To be fair I just read the interview from the link above and it destroyed any confusion I once had about the purpose of this film. Although due to those who don't want to be informed I'll stay quiet.

Is that right though? Heard some rumors and read some supposed set reports which would suggest otherwise. Like I say so much is unconfirmed. There's quite a bit over at AvP galaxy. Nothing concrete though.

Although, I would love for it just to be that Ridders hired them to hang around the set, just to throw the paps off

 The "Alien" won't be in it.

Doesn't mean that other creatures with that Giger feel won't be appearing. Ask yourself this - what the hell would that thing which burst out of the Space Jockey look like anyways?

Yeah, yeah! Thats what I'm hoping to see and learn about. Yet those reports of the guys in Alien suits, and it was Alien, not alien-like, had me thinking well it's the same old same old so why cover up stuff. Yet if we get all new creatures then it's gonna be great. I just dont wanna sit through somthin which thinks its 2001 which a last act that has a little action and hints at a link to the series. Shite.

The rumour is and please bear in mind this could be a possible spoiler. The xenomorphs do appear in this but not in their classic form.

The space jockeys are aquatic life forms living in a suit of some type. The xenomorph born from them  will grow to a very large size. If the xenomorphs' host is not human base then  it's going to be difficult for an actor in a suit to pull it off and likely why some actors are in blue suits.

 To be honest with you there have been a couple of "leaked" plotlines with a similar set up, but closer details don't match up with each other. I suspect it is somewhat likely the sequence of events happens as described, but the detail of what happens is still a mystery.

True but sill wish i hadnt of read it. Do we know who the lead is? Is it Theron or the lady from Dragon Tatoo? I heard Scott wasn't keen on Theron but the studio insisted on a name. I guess shes the co star but the other lady is the lead as he was fighting for her if memory serves me right. Don't know whats so special about her but I aint seen her in anything to be fair. She much cop?

She is good in Dragon Tattoo - and fits in with the Scott mould of woman who aren't models. I can buy her as someone serious and working in space - much like Weaver. Theron will likely be the co-lead in the flick. But then you have Fassebender, Guy Pearce and Elba so it will be full of grest actors.

Theron is pretty decent as well - she can handle material like this.

Yeah she's ace. Got a lot of flak at the start due to her looks but she can hold her own with the best of 'em. I reckon, this is purley speculation Rgirvann, Theron will either be stunt casting ala John Hurt or the two gals will play a similar role to the script that leaked. If indeed any of that early stuff was proved legit.

2012 is definitely all about Prometheus for me. I can't think of another film I'm more excited for.

I really like the idea of humans being genetically engineered by 'alien gods'. Its actually an idea that's been around for a while, relating to the Nibiru or 'Planet X' theory.

 Just reading about this film from that link has prompted me to pop BLADE RUNNER into the ol' blu-ray player again. THIS IS RIDLEY SCOTT RETURNING TO SCI-FI! HOW CAN IT NOT BE THE MOST IMPORTANT FILM OF 2012?!!

 I am a little concerned that due to Paul WS Andersons AVP which used the same book as the basis for that flick, kids are going to expect Predators to pop up. Maybe that is another reason they are distancing this from the Alien series.
