The DVHS wipes the floor with the Blu-ray, never mind what a new 4K scan would have done.

You're in the minority (regarding BTTF) on these boards I'm afraid.  We've been through this time and time again before...

I don't mind colouristation either: It's a wonderful life looks great.

Lucky for me then that I wasn't here in those hallowed times of before. The BTTF transfers aren't bad. In fact I'd say they're good . . . but they could have been better.

As for your view on colourisation, well I'm sure there's already a lengthy queue of people ready to deal with you over that so I'll join the other queue waiting to be served a hamburger and fries. I might have an apple pie too (caution: filling is hot).

Wow another condescending prick.  Like we don't have enough of those around here.  I see you've joined that queue

It`s not very clear is it but I beleive the more expensive one is in a tin but with that much of a difference their going to have to give me more than that so I`ve opted for the cheapest one. The toy dinosuar in the most expensive one looks crap so as I`m older than 10 I won`t be bothering with that!

Details below on whats in the tin. If you like stickers, a orgional release cinema poster and art cards and the tin then your like it but thats not for me.

Yes seems like Universal have done a pretty good job on it, but what a shame about the edge enhancement.

4.0 means it's worse than Back to the Future Trilogy (4.5), The Longest Day (4.5) and Patton (5.0). Blu-ray.com are not to be taken seriously.

Depends on who the reviewer is but on the whole I find them to be reasonably agreeable. Some of their reviewers are not as harsh on issues like DNR and EE as they should be.

Even if it isn't the disaster of the above releases, surely you can't say Universal have done a pretty good job for releasing a decade old HD transfer with added EE for one of the ten biggest films of all time worldwide?

Going by a list I saw a couple of months ago - but can't remember where - all of them have been ported over, including the extra stuff from the 4-disc set.

So anyone got it yet and looked at it? Was it worth it if you already had the DVD set?

I watched all 3 movies over the weekend. The picture & sound quality on all 3 films are excellent as far as I’m concerned. I didn’t have any of them on DVD so can’t offer a comparison I’m afraid. Of the 3, I think ‘The Lost World’ looks and sounds the best. I’d forgotten just how entertaining that film is, really enjoyed it, even the superfluous city-set finale. Jurassic Park 3’s effects are excellent and really show up well on Blu I think. Watching them all back to back the standout scene of the 3 movies is the T-Rex attack from the original Jurassic Park – looks and sounds stunning. However, the T-Rex attack on the trailer in ‘The Lost World’ runs it very close; again it looks and sounds stunning and had me on the edge of my seat. I haven’t had a chance to get into the extras yet but based purely on the films I reckon the set is well worth the purchase.

The kitchen scene in the first film is so intense.

This is going for £10 on amazon at the mo. I knew I'd get it at a decent price if I waited.

CLICK

The BTTF trilogy is going for £10 as well.

CLICK

Fuck buying box sets on release, better to wait a while and grab them at a third of the price (to an extent, I very much doubt that the Hitchcock boxset will be going for £33 a year from now ).

Had to grab it at that price. I don't think I even own JP on DVD.
