Love a bit of cheap plastic boxset tat. This'll look good next to my cheap plastic Alien egg and cheap plastic Terminator skull. Why couldn't we get a cheap plastic Death Star or Darth Vader helmet in September though? All we get is that C**T Jake Lloyd walking on the sand.

*sexually aggressive language censored by Adam West/Batman/Hopelies or whatever monicker he's given himself on god knows what film discussion forum somewhere.

Huh? Whats all that about?

i think he's referencing that time he called Jake Lloyd the C word and you called him up on it!

Ah yeah. I'm surprised anyone would want to remind the forums of that.

Actually, I'm not bothered about that gift set-thingie, I'm just happy that the trilogy is being released on blu-ray. Along with original STAR WARS Trilogy - all good.

Can't wait for this.  However the art work is crap that silver box is just wrong, its a shame that the limited edition which is more expensive for no real reason apart from the fact that the art work is much better.  Will still be getting but not sure which set to get, much prefer the black art work.

Same here I beleive it maybe a tin set but unless it has anything extra worth having I`m not paying 9 more for tin packaging even if its more durable. The dinosaur model looks cheap and tacky to me. I can only see dinosuar figure collectors or boys under the age of 12 wanting that.

Jurassic park is a great film of its time but its not one i return to really. The kids are really annoying and Richard Attenboroughs accent wavers a bit between scottish and english from time to time. The T rex attack is an outstanding set piece and an all time classic movie moment but the film goes downhill from there.

The sequels were shit.

Yes, the cheaper one looks better, other than that no difference. Buy it before they realise their fuck up.

It`s not very clear is it but I beleive the more expensive one is in a tin but with that much of a difference their going to have to give me more than that so I`ve opted for the cheapest one. The toy dinosuar in the most expensive one looks crap so as I`m older than 10 I won`t be bothering with that!

Pfftt!!!!

The black one is the original Jurassic Park poster, the silver one looks like the Jurassic Park 3 DVD!

Me too Jim, although as Darth says above, it's not one I return to that often so my existing DVD copy may be fine. It depends on what may actually be included with a single film release in terms of extras.

I watched it recently (one of the rare occassions) and it still holds up well as a great film. I'm slightly more excited about the upcoming theatrical re-release.

Not the state of the art picture we'd expect from a Spielberg Blu-ray but certainly not a BTTF trilogy-esque disaster either.

What was so bad with BTTF?

JP has a thick grain field, that sounds awful.  I may wait for further reviews before buying.

Yes because wanting a high quality product when you pay for a premium product is pretentious.

Is that the return of the old DNR plastic face issue again?

As for JP there's nothing wrong with a wee bit of grain y'know. It makes it look more real me thinks.

A wee bit is fine.  A shit load is ants crawling all over my TV screen.  I've had this argument before for pages and pages so I think I'll leave it there lol.  Unless someone drags me into it

The Wrath of Khan dvd had some serious grain on it if I remember correctly. Dunno if the bluray solved that issue.

I recently saw Jurassic Park on the big screen for the re-release, and it did indeed feature quite a bit of grain. However it wasn't intrusive and if it looks like that on the blu-ray I have no complaints.

I hope to Christ Spielberg is involved with 1&2 so Universal don't screw it up like BTTF.

They didn't screw BTTF up, it looks great...

If you like waxy faces and edge enhancement.

If folks don't like film grain then tough, because scrubbing it out results in a far worse image - processed and unnatural. Excessive DNR is as much a crime against cinema as colouristation or pan & scan.

You're in the minority (regarding BTTF) on these boards I'm afraid.  We've been through this time and time again before...

I don't mind colouristation either: It's a wonderful life looks great.

Lucky for me then that I wasn't here in those hallowed times of before. The BTTF transfers aren't bad. In fact I'd say they're good . . . but they could have been better.

As for your view on colourisation, well I'm sure there's already a lengthy queue of people ready to deal with you over that so I'll join the other queue waiting to be served a hamburger and fries. I might have an apple pie too (caution: filling is hot).
