I can't be the only one who finds Arterton's success baffling. She has never been anything more than average in everything I've seen her in.

By and large forgettable or actively awful (Titans/Persia/Drewe/etc), I agree. But there's always some young female UK actor du jour, not always that impressive in the acting stakes but it's really all about looks it seems. Sometimes they turn out alright - I'm sure Olivia Williams was one once, and she turned out very impressive. Knightley is another who still gets roles that seem to punch above her weight (no pun intended).

ect... St Trinian's, RocknRolla and The Boat That Rocked, it isn't the best of CVs. I haven't seen Alice Creed, she is also slated for the new Men in Black sequel/prequel. It's a shame about Noomi Rapace though, I would like to see her in more after impressing in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, still I do have Sherlock Holmes 2 to look forward to...
