Complicated, much!! Could be absolutely amazing! Could end up leaving everyone just staring at the screen going 'What the ......? May be too many concepts for one film to cope with.

They SO wish Arnie was still acting. Casting'l have to be just right for this to work. but if it is, it will and i'll be there. almost put with bells on, but i'd have been lieing. i wouldn't wear bells.

Christ, I'm slow on the uptake these days.

I can't wait for this, combining my two favorite genres - sci-fi and historical.

During the reign of the Vikings, Kainan (Caviezel), a man from a far-off world, crash-lands on Earths, bringing with him an alien predator known as the Moorwen. Though both man and monster are seeking seek revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking's Iron Age weaponry.

Decent cast with Jim Cavizel, Sophie Myles, Ron Perlman and Jon Hurt but director/writer Howard McCain has yet to prove himself.

Either way, consider me excited.

Hmm, no indication of when it's out?

Apparantly this is the first film in history to feature old Norse, an almost dead language. Director Howard McCain used an Icelandic professor to help translate the dialogue and to teach the actors how to speak the ancient language.

Interesting Stuff!

The all knowing Imdb.com says...... 2007. Useful.

Any studio that knows anything though would put a significant gap between the release of this and Pathfinder.

So stick that in your inquistive pipe and smoke it.

This sounds like someone wrote a Alien vs Predator spec script set in Viking times, got rejected and then was redone for a new studio.

Could be brilliant, could be awful.

Oh I agree but I'm almost certain it'll be better than AvP2.

Swords and arrows versus Aliens? Much better than bullets. Time for some good old hand to hand mauling.

Have put more concept art and actual movie stills in my Historical Epic thread as pics don't show up here - Clicky click

Apparantly filming is now complete and it's in the editing suite and despite only costing 50million boast shots that 'make it look like a 100 million dollar film.'

Indeed. Looks like Sophie Myles is getting grillled about it in Hallam Foe interviews.

Just saw that. Is it me or does she appear to be a bit embarrassed/shy about it?

Maybe just caught on the hop.

Is there a release date on this yet? Any idea when we can expect a trailer?

Trailer is finally here!!!!

http://outlander.solsector.net/index.htm

Have to say - its looking pretty good. Could have done without the "Lord of the Rings" being mentioned, followed by the cliche trailer music but the footage looks promising.

A reviewer from Aintitcool has seen it and really liked it.

Disturbingly though, he mentioned that the Weinstein's current plan seems to be to release the movie on ONLY 50 screens and then send the film to DVD. Morons.
