 *Spoilers for Night of the Hunter*


I was watching Night of the Hunter not long ago and the young girl, Pearl, really got on my tits. Throughout the film Harry Powell basically treats her like shit and threatens to kill her several times (and actually does kill her mother), and when he finally hunts her and her brother down after they've floated half way down the Mississippi, what does she do? Runs up to him and hugs the guy's leg like a over-friendly poodle. And she's got an annoying voice.

 I know this is telly but its GREAT telly:
Tony Soprano's ma. What a horribly nasty and hateful woman - and how beautifully played. I wonder just what would have been done with her character and her godawful relationship with her son had the actress playing her not died...

Oh and one not so obvious choice which may annoy a few people:
Ferris f*****g Bueller! No matter how many times I watch that film I still think he's a such an annoying, smug, self-satisfied wanker - hate doesn't do it justice...

Old Dudley is just too charming to hate, he's got a great flair for kiss-off lines ("Hush, Hush", "Do Yeh have a valediction Boyo?") And the smooth efficiency with which he goes about his business elevates him to a Hans Gruber level of semi-condonable villainy.

Agreed, plus the fact that Broderick & Mia Sara looked like brother and sister made me wonder if it was a way for Bueller to subconsciously shag himself.
