I'm not as fond of the selection this year, but since I had to pull out of last years I've signed up.

Picked again, woo. Got my first choice as well (Good Omens), and they've switched to Monday this year so there should be more people about than last year. I wonder are there more/less givers this year?

Woohoo, I'm a giver again this year, for Let The Right One In.

I LOVED The Book Thief. Absolutely brilliant book!

I was a giver last year, a heads up for everyone who's a giver this year - make sure the bookshop/library you're collecting them from KNOW that they're going to be getting a box load of books for you. Mine hadn't been informed and I know a few others hadn't either.

Also, check that the 15 digit code has already been put into each book, otherwise you're going to be spending an awful lot of time putting a unique reference number into every book you're giving out!

Being a giver, can I get copies of the other books for myself??? There are a couple of books on the list which I'd like to read...

I hope to see more givers around my area this year but not sure I will - the only place I saw one was actually a person at my work.  I'd imagine there are more around central London than where I am in Watford.

just wondering, has anyone been emailed about where their books are being delivered yet? It's three days away and they haven't contacted me since confirming that I'd been selected

Did you contact them to tell them which bookshop or library they were to deliver the books to?

So I received the email about selecting a collection point on Saturday, the collection point system naturally already being closed by that point. I sent an email asking if they could confirm where the collection point was, and I got a reply late this evening saying that I didn't pick a collection point so no books. sigh.

Guy came into work today handing out free books. Got me a copy of The Book Thief. Very happy and such a surprise as the whole event had almost fell off my radar this year.

I gave several copies of The Road to some people in work, left some at the book swap bit of a youth hostel near my office, and then gave the rest away to random people sat in the Southbank Centre cafe who were sat reading books. It was good fun!

I never heard back from the organisers about being a giver. Will try again next year.

What time was that? I ran past there about 6.30 this evening

It was about 6pm actually, I thought that as they had the event there tonight then there would be a few people giving them away, alas I was mistaken and so didn't get any free copies of anything myself

I haven't seen hide nor hair of anyone giving out books today neither in Harrow where I work, nor Watford where I live (though to be fair I haven't ventured out much this evening). Not sure how surprising that is thoguh really!
