The Game of the Month will be Dead Space 2, which launches tomorrow. Good luck.

Also... For the first time with the Game of the Month, there will be an achievement quick fire competition.

Via the entirely fair and scientific process (my mate picking out a random number...), a random achievement has been selected. The first person to get the achievement and post proof in this thread, gets a small accolade. So... what is your target this month...?

Main table updizzle, fo' shizzle.

There be movement! Inside the glowing blue confines of the exclusive 100k club, Op Yid leapfrogs Naked Assassin into 4th place. Meanwhile, in the lower reaches, there's a shuffle in the silver spots, as YFU barges 2 places up the chart into 12th, at the expense of borstal and Xanxiani, all of whom are joined by directorscut, who smashes out of the bronze placings into 15th. Taking the walk of shame backwards and losing his silver status is Hooch. However, it's tighter than a gnat's chuff round there, so expect changes come the month of March.

Nothing else to report! No dropouts, additions or anything like that.

Game of the Month! It's a bit quiet in all honesty - only 4 tags on the table thus far, and not much time remaining thanks to the oncoming (Bullet)Storm that's virtually upon us. On that point - it's either Bulletstorm or a 2 week wait until Dragon Age 2. The democratic majority gets their choice.

 Hows about Bulletstorm for the 2 week period leading up to the release of Dragon Age 2 and then DA2 being the game of the moment after that?

Nothing to do with the fact that I will be getting both...........

Now I think about it Fight Night Champion is out in the week inbetween them and I am getting that too so how about...........................actually, I'll get me coat!

March to April - Crysis 2

April to May - Portal 2

Each game is released about a month after the other, 25th, 25th and 22nd respectively, and to boot they're all the best games of their prozpective launch months.

Dragon Age > Crysis.

Plus why the hell would you want a 1st person shooter (shooter/puzzler in Portal 2's case) for 3 consecutive months. There is more to the 360 catalogue than games in the 1st person y'know.

What logic? Dragon Age was a brilliant game while Crysis was a good looking but broken by the numbers shooter.

Dragon Age was a game that should have been released about 5+ years ago, the game engine it was running on was awfully dated.

And Crysis only worked properly on about 10% of PC's (admittedly 10% is an arbitrary number I just picked out of my head but you get my point) and was as by the numbers as FPS's get.

Some people can't see the mundane gameplay for the shiny graphics.

And you'r comparing apples and oranges there, how does the PC version of Dragon Age (on a better looking engine) compare to Crysis on metacritic?

Did you ever play it? I wouldn't say it was by the numbers at all, Crytek were following a formula they brought to the genre themselves with Far Cry (not any of the console spin offs or that awful Ubisoft made sequel) making it open ended, you can go anywhere and do anything to approach the story/objective, in comparison most FPS games are somewhat linear.

Well simply put, which version of Dragon Age did you play to base your opinion?

And it wasn't just visuals that were dated, it was the whole gameplay system. Some people say it was the style they were going for, but I find that a pretty poor excuse seeing as Mass Effect 1 and 2 are so well done.

I was.

I have no issue with DA2 being GoM... In fact I very much want to
like it. The gameplay looks to have advanced since the 1st offering. My only gripe is that, like the 1st game, it won't be very accessible to non RPG fans like myself. I'm going to be flamed for this but I'd much prefer the Mass Effect 2 approach.

I still don't buy portal as an fps though... Sorry.

I leave for the weekend and look what happens...

Personally, I think DK talks sense. I see nothing wrong with having a Bulletstorm and Dragon Age 2 running concurrently. As for the next couple of months, we also have Deus Ex, LA Noire (as mentioned) and Lego Star Wars 3 (what?), as well as Portal 2 and Crysis 2. Nothing is set in stone at this point - we may have some, none or all of these. I may just go for Rango, WWE All Stars and Michael Jackson: The Experience.
