Best 'teen comedy' since clueless? Talk about damning with faint praise.

I've had a bit of a crush on Emma Stone for a while now, hope this is as as good as Empire reckons and it does make her a star!

Six years before Clueless? Heathers.

Perhaps there's something in this sequence business.

Oh, wait, I misunderstood the sequence. In order to work properly, we'd need great girl-centric teen comedy movies in 1990 and 1992 as well. Still, at least Heathers still fits.

Saw this last night. Was good. Not '4 stars' good, but a definate 3 stars. I didn't find it all that funny, but the story was kind of touching, and Emma Stone's performance is just a joy to watch.

Surprisingly funny - and it's not, as it may appear, a chick flick. I'm a guy who's favourite films include Pulp Fiction, The Godfather and Inception, but I really enjoyed this. I went to the cinema with the intention of seeing Red - which was sold out - so I decided to see this first, and I have to say, I preffered it.  In a nutshell, it's a crisply written, well acted and witty grown-up/teen comedy.  Emma Stone is perfect in her role, supported by a great cast.  I'd definately reccomend giving it a watch, if not for what I've mentioned then for Stanley Tucci's brilliant performance as the loveable but ever so slightly eccentricdad.

Probably the best 'teen' flick of recent years, and that's probably because it's just not meant for teens. Well written, incredibly funny and a fantastic supporting cast (Thomas Hayden Church and Stanley Tucci take a bow), but it is definetely Emma Stone's film and she is wonderful.

She's deserved her own film for a while after being great in the likes of Superbad and Zombieland, and Easy A lets her do what she does best - deliver dry wit, be the kind of girl you wish you'd meet and look stunning.

Plus the filmmakers clearly love the films of John Hughes and Cameron Crowe, so salut to that!

This is a rare beast indeed - a high school teen comedy that plays defiantely against type. What really sets it apart is the quality of the writing - there are some absolute zingers of dialogue - oh, and that of being perfectly cast - Emma Stone is an absolute delight. Whichever film wins the Oscar for best original screenplay next year will probably not enjoy as much longtitude as this!

Seriously, I'm a guy and was in tears of laughter for much of this movie. Scenes with the parents are especially great. And Emma Stone, now only is she drop dead gorgeous, she is a fantastic actor in the making. Heres hoping she never goes down the Lohan root!!

Had been looking forward to this one since I read about it a few weeks ago and first saw the trailers for it. A 'teen comedy' for everyone, and as a guy I can admit I really loved this one. The fact Emma Stone is pretty damn hot obviously helps, but the whole film is so well written and the characters are all brilliant.

Stone's character, and her parents, really make this flick nothing short of hilarious. Some brilliant performances throughout, and a wonderful mix of both well written, clever comedy, as well as simple, laugh out loud ridiculous moments.

If you liked Mean Girls, you'll love this! "I gotta pocket, gotta pocketful of sunshine..."

Despite the glowing review here, this isn't really in the league of Clueless or 10 Things, mainly because it's trying too hard to be and is a little too self-referential for my taste; there's times where you want the film to stop pointing out where it's pilfered its riffs from and just get on with telling you the story. Despite these criticisms, there are plenty of things to recommend here, not least Emma Stone's absolutely knockout performance in the lead role (a star is born, people!), a bright fun tone and snappy dialogue, and Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci's offbeat adorable parents (Tucci in particular is an absolute hoot throughout). The supporting actors are all well chosen, but there's probably not enough of Thomas Haden Church's deeply uncool yet cool at the same time teacher, which makes you wonder why they cast such a big actor in there. A very loose adaptation of the source material, but almost certainly the most fun one.

A great quirky movie! It wasn't the typical teen-coming of age movie that we have come to expect from Hollywood. But a more sincere and different film supported by a brilliant cast who provided many laughs (stanley tucci, Patricia Clarkson, lisa kudrow). But the star of this movie is the charming, witty and talented Emma Stone, who has consistently pleased audiences with other performances (Superbad & Zombieland) but this has to be her best yet! Hollywood has a new leading lady!

Rather ashamed to say I really liked this. A nugget of gold in the turd filled bowl of high school comedies.

A thoroughly enjoyable film. The cast are great, particularly Emma Stone and Stanley Tucci. It makes a change to watch a 'teen' comedy that isn't full of dick and fart jokes, nor too smug and self-satisfied like Juno. To give you an idea, if this had been made in 1985 it would have been directed by John Hughes.

Flat, dull and lacking in any laughs. Harsh this verdict might be but I'm afraid it is about the long and the short of it.

The ode to classic high-school films may be counterproductive (considering how much potential this film has to be one), but with witty dialogue, fun moving stories, and a brilliant performance from Emma Stone, Easy A is the feel-good-film of 2010. And defiantly one of the funniest teen comedies in years.
