No spoilers for the new season, but I've seen the first two episodes and they are awesome.

Can you start watching from cinemax episodes? The original Sky1 ep's didn't appeal but I've heard nothing but great things about it since it moved to cinemax.

Yeah. I did. I watched a bit of the first series when it was repeated on PickTV and it's a bit lame compared to the squib-tastic nature of the Cinemax co-production.

The first season with Richard Armitage is completely different. It was good at the time but of you go back to it after watching the cinemax version it is a damp squib as Captain' says. Just watch the Cinemax stuff, all new characters and cast and a whole lot better. I was tempted to get it via my American aunt but I pay for Sky so I like to feel I get my moneys worth! Looking forward to Sunday night!

I keep trying and I just can't get it. My wife loves it. It seems to have good constituent parts, shoot-outs, explosions, shagging, nonsense plots. But I just find myself fading out halfway through each episode.

Anyone watching at US pace? Shit just got real.

I think I've enjoyed this series as much as anything I've watched this year, including more obviously 'prestige' dramas - simply nothing has consistently delivered on its mission statement week on week in the way this has.

I keep being tempted to jump to US pace, I might make the leap. I hate waiting a week for each episode. It's too awesome! How many episodes are left to air in the US?

Might wait another couple of weeks and then make the jump to finish it off then. It really is just balls to the walls, does exactly as it says on the tin action. And it does it well.....

Watched this weeks Sky1 episode last night. More fantastic stuff. Some great action as well as some pretty good acting from the main pair. The on screen relationship between the two is great. Always leaves me wanting more....

I'd never seen this before until I was at my parents for a week and my dad was watching a series he'd rented on DVD.  Couldn't tell you which one but I completely agree that it's a real 'does what it says on the tin' show!  Having read a few of Ryan's books, it certainly fits the bill - good stuff.

I'll have to try and watch it from the start at some point.

It's great, isn't it?

Episode 8 has an action sequence that's better than stuff you see in most mainstream films, at least those of recent years.

Just watched E08. Great action, there was that much action they couldn't fit Scott's shag in this week!

LOL Your Funny Uncle...true about Scott.

I love this series even though it requires you to suspend belief. So Scott sleeps with a Mossad Rogue agent and still gets to keep his job eh? Still i love it. Its good fun and this season has been pretty good so far.

Agreed about the chemistry between the two leads they work well together. Agreed Captain Black about the action sequences...they are very real and brutal.

Strikeback has been awesome from Richard Armitage as Porter to Philip Winchester as Stonebridge and Sullivan Stapleton as Scott. And has always maintained a good plot and action sequences and some of the best lines from Scott which is I'll not repeat on here but you know what i mean.
But my favourite overall scene from strike back is when Scott and Stonebridge take refuge in a building and go all out on the enemy that they are attacked by after being spotted.

Think I'll wait for the Sky1 airing but I'm really looking forward to this. Such a great action show.

I'll keep it vague and I don't think there's value in splitting off into a new thread, but the new season's off to a great start. Interested to see how one or two of the recognisable guest stars, in the uncharacteristic confines of a badass action show, acquit themselves in the coming episodes. Some nice callbacks to previous episodes, and typically superb action sequences.

I love the feel of authenticity the location shooting gives the show. There's a lot of Budapest in one episode, and it's fun to look at places and think "Hey, I've been there". Right before there's an awesome shoot out.

Again, trying to keep it vauge with my thoughts of S3.

It's fucking awesome, basically!

Not sure if I liked it more than 2, as it's arguably a little broader and -- inevitably -- there are certain repeating story techniques the writers use to push the plot forward, and I don't think the motivations of the villains are quite as interesting as Charles Dance's character. But at a technical level it might be even better. It really does beggar belief that they can do this stuff (there's a chase sequence in the last episode that reminded me of Terminator 2; and there simply is no level above that as far as I'm concerned) on what I'm guessing is a smaller budget than a lot of US TV shows. I really should pay more attention to who on Earth is directing because they should be making films. And Michael Bay's films at that, so they'd actually be films you'd want to watch. And the buddy relationship between Scott and Stonebridge is as good as ever.

A W E S O M E!

I love this show. Just a shame that the next season will be the last

Do you ever get the feeling their most dangerous adversary could well be Scott's Penis?

Really enjoying the new series of Strike Back aptly named Shadow Warfare, because I'm not really sure what is actually going on, yeah it's only into it's second or third episode I think. But I'm going to keep watching it because it's got great character's, action sequences and of course the interplay between Stonebridge and Scott is really fun to see specially in the middle of a gunfight. It's nice to see the direction that Rhona Mitra's character Major Dalton, and it's good to see Robson Greene back in the military again.
