From what i hear the film sucks ass so kind of a complete waste of time. Phoenix tried to do something cool and unusual but i hear it's pretty self indulgent. Andy Kaufman can rest peacefully!

There isn't any truth in “I’m Still Here”. There was mostly an overall performance done shown within the “documentary” about Joaquin Phoenix’s downward spiral. Director of “I’m Still Here,” Casey Affleck, told all about the truth after it was released last week and wrecked by film critics.

I read this here: Affleck says Joaquin Phoenix meltdown in I'm Still Here is a hoax.

Just about everything about the film was staged, from supposedly drug-addled rap performances by Phoenix to an incoherent, mumbling appearance on Letterman. Affleck calls "I'm Still Here" the performance of Phoenix's career. Some disagree, thinking Affleck has ruined his career along with Phoenix’s.
