I said this should be the casting a while back in another thread, glad it's happening.

Should ask my my fee as casting director !!

As for rest of band....

In a perfect world I'd go for

John Deacon - James McAvoy

Brian May - Paul Bettany (ideally Richard E Grant but too old now for biopic on younger scenes)

Roger Taylor - Ben Miller of 'Armstrong and Miller' fame

Well I'm thrilled at this news. Too long have we been waiting for a Queen film. Or a film about Freddie and the band to be more exact.

Nobody touches their great, varied output (not even The Beatles or Led Zep) and Freddie remains the greatest singer of all time, who had great charisma and personality. So it's about time we got a film of his colourful yet tragic life.

Quite who they'll cast as the other band members I haven't got a clue, but I have a feeling they'll go with unknowns. And one thing's for sure; Cohen better get his practice in for Freddie as a mere impersonation will not do.

I also wonder what they'll call the film. I hope it's not something like 'One Vision' or one of their song titles. Something a little more subtle and quality please guys!

Anyone ever read Brian May's absolutely hilarious blog? Have a look and see why I doubt this film will ever see the light of day and if it does it will only be after the perm-headed fool has fell out with the director and publicly trashed the finished product.

Quite funny for Snake-Eyes! I recall reading a mock interview with 'Borat' just after the movie was released, in which he states he has his mustache to be like 'Ladies' Man', Freddy Mercury!

This will either be the greatest bit of casting ever or a complete disaster....will just have to wait and see. It will be interesting to see who they get to play the rest of the band though

Sacha Baron Cohen is neither Sherlock Holmes or Freddie Mercury, stop!! think and protest this absurdity!
What can Graham King of GK FILMS be thinking ? i dont trust him, have you seen London boulevard? the man cares nothing about creative decisions, he doesnt intervene when he should.

Sacha Baron cohen cannot convincingly act, does not actually look like Freddie Mercury and looks self conscious and terrible in movies, except when making fun of characters who's belief systems he hates with a passion. Hates enough to mock them by acting them out in a crazy and if you can call it convincing way.

This is Freddie Mercury, and SBC will never ever do justice or look
half as good as the Great as this actor who deserves this role , for at
least he can actually act, knows about singing and is the right height
and can act every stage of Mercury's life.

i also virtually have found the whole cast needed from early 70's to mid

80's when queen retired from live shows .

let sacha produce and get some money back from his dictator losses
but please dont let him be Mercury.
See sense and honour Freddie's Memory , by taking him seriously as a musician and stage performer, and a real human being!
