Jack Nicholson.

He usually is, but I thought The Pledge and About Schmidt he was more subdued and therefore, different.

I will not have anyone say a bad word about Michael Ironside, especially his role in Starship Troopers,if only for the classic line "They sucked his brains out!"

Does he not say to his brother in Scanners that he is going to suck his brain dry also? Maybe it's similar lines he delivers?

Oh, I would nominate Lassie or Clyde (Every Which Way..movies) .

I would say Tom Cruise. I don't think it's always a bad thing but he does really similar roles. I've heard a rumor that he has a rage scene in every contac. ( Imean he wants a rage scene in every film) Looking at his pictures you could think that that's true. I still think it's a urban myth that you hear a lot (I mean a lot)

true, i think that when you go watch a movie with Tom Cruise you are generally watching Tom Cruise deal with a situation.

Yeah and I don't know if this is just me (probably is) but Tom Cruise nearly always eats in his films. I mean it is vital for his characters to live but you know...

And my vote goes to Sean Connery- I love the man's talent but he is always a Scot!!!

I know I'm going to get rapped in the mouth for this, but it seems to me that for the past 20 years or so Al Pacino has been playing Al Pacino.

I know I may burn in hell for this but Ryan gosling. Is always Ryan gosling. Just checked out the new trailer for the one with Bradley cooper and again he is... Ryan gosling.
Brooding, sultry, monotone...

And gangster squad, well according to the trailer he is ...Ryan gosling.

That said I think he rocks and everything he is in is just great. So go figure.

You saved yourself with that last sentence

But there are huge differences between Ryan Gosling in Lars and the Real Girl and Ryan Gosling in the Ides of March or Drive.

Colin Farrell is only good at playing Colin Farrell. In other words, a foul mouthed, uncouth, scumbag.

Which is why he's perfectly cast in movies like In Bruges and Seven psychopaths.

Anthony Hopkins? Especially in relatively recent performances. While he is always nothing less than watchable, he doesnt seem to have much range.

I just think Gosling is a actor who subtling changes in a film, he has a real steely prensce and fits into a number of different roles in a varity of films. BV and Ides really show different sides to him.

Ryan Reynolds just plays himself all the time.I dont see any real difference between his Hannibal King and Deadpool ( pre transformation ) besides facial hair.

If you're talking just recent I will agree, but his performances in Remains of the Day and for example, The Silence of the Lambs are way different. Even Remains of the Day and The Elephant Man, the man can be incredibly subtle and varied when he wants to.

Whilst I utterly adore the man, I'm finding Bill Nighy to be a bit one-note of late. Every scene seems to end in a sudden raising and de-raising of an eyebrow with a mouth-pout.

A completely specious assessment of Farrell's off-screen personality predicated on a couple of roles you've seen him play. Jesus, you are an idiot.

Colin Farrell is a (distant) relation of mine. And I'm serious, this is no vad3r-esque bullshit.

Also, Farrell makes a point of visiting a local children's hospital on Christmas Day every year. So maybe Breeze would like to rethink his opinion, but as that would involve him not being a moron, I doubt that will happen.

I would be very annoyed if Kristen Wiig turned out to be my distant cousin. I wouldn't be able to make sexy time with her if that were the case. : (
