Im not entirely convinced by this, but there is a Wicker Man sequel in production at the moment. I read somewhere that it was going to be called Cowboys for Christ after the original source material, but according to IMDB its now changed to The Wicker Tree. Robin Hardy writes/directs as per the original

Interestingly Sir Christopher Lee is to reprise his role as Lord Summerisle

I don't see the point, but if it at least rids the memory of the awful remake, then it be a good thing

And it's Hardy coming back to do a horror film? Surely that is enough reason for it to exist?

Hasn't this been talked about for years tho?!

I can remember Lee and Hardy both talking it up when the Wicker Man remake came out whenever that was(I've blocked out the details of that garbage so not sure when that was exactly!). If it ever happens I'd love to see it but not getting too excited yet!

No, I imagine I should avoid it right?

They should make a sequel to the HILARIOUS remake and call it The Wicker Bear with Nic Cage coming back as an actual bear to get his revenge on the crazy gals. Think of it! He'd be like:

"How'd I get burned? How'd I get burned how'd I get buuuuuuurned??? ROAAAR!"

It's pretty bad. It's not giving me the best hopes for The Wicker Man 2. Or The Wicker Tree. Or The Riding of the Laddie. Or The Wickening, or whatever the hell they're calling it these days.

Just got tickets for a showing of The Wicker Tree with a Q+A with Robin Hardy at the Cameo in Edinburgh.  Well looking forward to it.

Fucking hell that was terrible. Fucker couldn't even be arsed to appear. Just as well would have been lynched.

No booing, but there was a lot of derisive laughter. Really though what a lot of arse that was. Cheap looking, nonsensical and terribly acted. What a disappointment.

That's a shame, the Guardian story today made it sound quite good.
