Is this it?

http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/05/05/godzillas-new-design/

I think it looks amazing and seriously hope the final design is along these lines. Should destroy not only skyscrapers, but eyeballs also in S3D. I for one am ready to forget you know what and have an amazing western version of GUDJILLA!!!! Sorry

Looks pretty good.

Just hope it is bigger than the last one.

Godzillia doesn't hide in city. City hides in Godzilla.

And can we have added Mothra please! And some Mecha Godzilla would go down rather nicely too me thinks! I want giant beasts smacking the shit out of each other here. The effects for normal super models, I mean people, on the ground were covered well enough in Cloverfield for me.

Always quite partial to Meca-Godzilla myself still anyone from Monster Island would be fine.

I'm quite behind on this: is it still being directed by Gareth Edwards? Is this a different one?

Anyway those models are very promising (if a little Reign of Fire-y)

Yeah Edwards is still behind it. Apparently the teaser trailer at comic con was really well received. It showed Godzilla in it and all I've been able to find was a screen shot but it's not very good quality. From what I can tell it looks a lot like the model in the OP...

Amended the name of this thread as itís not coming out this year.

Comic Con teaser sounded cool. But I donít think it will be getting released online anytime soon. Not even sure if this film is green lit yet? Think the trailer was similar to the original Tron Legacy one. Knocked up to gauge reaction and interest before committing to produce the film.

Given that the teaser exists and it's a Legedary production, could it be attached to Dark Knight Rises? The reaction seems really positive and I would love to see it. I'm one of the few that doesnt hate the 1998 movie - it's a guilty pleasure - but to see a bigger better take on Godzilla would be great

No idea- but don't Jinx it by mentioning that film please! I loved Monsters so have high hopes for this: it can only be better than Ferris Bueller hangs out with a big Dinosaur anyway.

I'm pretty sure the film is coming out in 2014 to mark the 60th aniversary of Godzilla. The original Godzilla film was released in 1954 and the last Godzilla came out in 2004 to mark the 5oth aniversary.
I did wonder if the film would ever go into production but it does make sense to hold the film back for a few years. Warner Bros originally going to had Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel and Godzilla coming out in a space of a few months. A few months later the Hobbit will be hitting the screens and that is Blockbuster overload.

Still it a shame no one bothered filming the trailer when they filmed Man of steel which will be on the internet in the next two days.

I believe there were some truly shocking quality ones that went online initially but WB pulled them pretty sharpish. But from what I gather you literally couldnít make anything out except the audio.

Should think a Godzilla teaser will be attached to MoS and then the first theatrical on the second part of the Hobbit

I'm really unsure about this.

I liked the original Godzilla, it's a bit of a guilty pleasure (as mentioned earlier in the thread) and I didn't really like Monsters. It was a bit dull in my eyes, but I was expecting all out action, so maybe it'd be worth watching again...
