Couple of things that helped me when starting out, first, never run through and around the centre of the map. Makes it too easy to get picked off. Try and stay around the edges of the map.

Second, try and get into the habit of hip firing when close to an enemy. If you run round a corner and come face to face with the opposition dont be tempted to go ADS. (Aim down sight), by hip firing you'll have at least half a second over the casual game player.

And finally, when firing, dont stand still and fire. Always strafe left/right while maintaining that aim. A moving target is much more difficult to hit...

You will probably notice that most CoD players rush aimlessly and it becomes matter of reflexes wether they get a kill or not. Although this strategy can work, i find it isn't advisable.
Especially if you think an enemy is near, go in slow, while ADS so you can get the jump on him. Silenced weapons may help as well.

What particular weapons are you using?

See, I know the FAL is good and all, but it may be because some people with Famas's and the like will just spam the crap out of anything that moves. The FAL may be too slow or something, I don't know.

I myself use the Galil suppressed, Aug suppressed, but mostly the M60.

Heh, the other day I was playing S&D on Jungle, and it was the last round of the match. We had 4 alive and we killed everyone near the bomb. I randomly picked up some guy's AUG and had a little spam to pass the time, while my team-mate defused. I went into a little hut, and as soon as it said "Bomb defused" I did a random 360 AUG spam, and, well, there was the other teams last alive, right behind me. I got the game winning kill Maybe I'll try posting it later or something.

After playing the game for so long and going through almost every possible weapon setup I am now pretty sure the Famas is the best all round weapon you can use. It has everything, range, accuracy, damage and it works well with every attachment. The Galil is probably second in my opinion.

I generally run with AUG and Dual Mag attachment, CZ75 with full auto upgrade, plus frag and flash grenades. Perks, I go with Hardline Pro, Sleight of Hand Pro, and Hacker Pro.

* Why dual mag? Because it's awesome. Not only are you reloading ridiculously fast, but also on every spawn or respawn your starting with 50% more ammo. Not many people realise that bit.

I had a really good Domination match which finished I think something like 46-16. Almost everything I did worked! I was even given negative feedback for being too aggressive!

This was the funniest bit though. I spotted someone jumping around near the spawn point and I was not really sure what was going on, so I sent the RC to find out -

Along with four multiplayer maps, the next piece of DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops is adding Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Freddy Krueger.

Developer Treyarch has released the first details of "Call of the Dead," the Zombies campaign included with the first person shooter's Escalation map pack, out May 3.

The campaign -- inspired by director George Romero -- will star Machete actor Danny Trejo, Buffy actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund of Nightmare on Elm Street fame and Michael Rooker of The Walking Dead TV series.

According to a description on the video's YouTube page, "Call of the Dead" is set "in a mysterious, ice-covered, remote Siberian island."

"This is Treyarch's tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team," says Dave Anthony, director of Black Ops, in a statement. "It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whose passion and energy brought their characters instantly to life."

FAO the people who complain about the spawning system in this. Go back to CoD4 and see how much worse it is in that game. The amount of times I have appeared in front of enemies playing it this weekend is insane. It's remarkable people still hold this game in such high regard.

I bought this on Ebay yesterday. I am about a decade behind on gaming having been hooked on counterstrike for most of the 90's.

It's great when you've played a really, really good round, in my case my best ever several times, and then the connection dies in the last few seconds and the match isn't registered. Again and again and...
Maybe it's just me that has a crap connection (not likely), or maybe it's the PS3 (who the fuck knows) but I really don't care, I still fell cheated.
Shame, I really liked MW2 and I'd hoped this would be fun too, it certainly seems like it could be when it does work, but instead it's a terribly frustrating un-fun experience.

Maybe the next one will be a return to form.

Just not digging the last two map packs. Only a ocuple of the levels I really like, and I never do Zombies really, might give it a go on this lazy Sunday afternoon.

I have gotten in the habbit lately of playing with a mic, and acting like the most obnoxious, arrogant asshole going - even when I lose badly claiming to be the man. Too fun : )

I played this for the first time in ages on Friday night during a drinking session with a buddy (it's an interesting thing to see K/D fall as alcohol consumed rises). There are things I totally love about this game, but there is also things I truly hate.

On a side note, I hope MW3 has an M16 on par with the one on MW2.

It only took me a similar amount of time. It was nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be.

Treyarch, the studio behind Call of Duty: Black Ops, is bringing the Call of Duty series to a "new console" according to a job ad on the developer's website.

The hint comes in a call for a senior platform engineer where the studio lays it out pretty plainly:

"Treyarch is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for a position on the team bringing our hugely successful game to a new console."
