Well that's nice to know......won't be playing with him!

Saying that, he wasn't bad helping out on BC2 so maybe he's turned over a new leaf.

Are you getting this game Mr B?

As much as MW2 pissed me off I'll be giving this a go and hope that Treyarch will offer more of a challenge in the single player than IW did. Oh and that the multiplayer is more balanced too.

Im going to be let down arent I?

I wouldn't be surprised. I found in WAW, even though the multiplayer was almost exactly the same as COD:MW, it just lacked that polish that Infinity Ward seemed to have. But, based on the sales of MW2, I would imagine that Activision will want a highly polished multiplayer for Black Ops (whether or not they fix the many issues that STILL plague MW2's multiplayer remains to be seen).

Boooo.......I don't have Live at the moment. Only a Silver Member until nearer Christmas now.

Oh well, I'll just have to wait until the actual game comes out.

Is there any chance of this being radically different from MW2, or are we just looking at something akin to an expansion?

Radically different how? its a war based FPS, just like all the other COD's, unless you have guns that tickle people to death and custard pies as a secondary, its gonna be more of the same, and that aint a bad thing as long as they fix the issues MW2 has

I think Kata means, is this like when World at War came out and it was basically a reskinned Cod4. Whereas CodMW2 was a drastic change from Cod4.

Treyarch has shot down increasingly hot rumours that a Call of Duty: Black Ops public beta is set to arrive on Xbox Live and PSN.

Speaking to CVG at the Black Ops multiplayer reveal event in LA this morning, Treyarch community man Josh Olin confirmed that Activision's not planning a public beta at the moment and said that current console trials are "internal only".

"We're already doing an internal beta with all sorts of Activision studios - thousands of people are participating in our beta," he said.

"That's the only formal beta that we're planning at the moment. There were a lot of misconceptions, confusion and Google ads. There was some speculation that we'd be launching a public beta tonight - that's not happening. The beta is internal only right now."

He added: "Keeping it internal is very helpful for us. It allows us to move a lot faster on our builds, so if we want to change something we can easily push out a new build within the company to anyone who has one of these dev kits.

"Call of Duty is so much this big mainstream thing that everybody at Activision is playing this game."

Multiplayer gameplay. The removal of Commando, Stopping Power and Juggernaut is a plus, as is the removal of continuous running with Marathon (even if it is my favourite perk). The RC car looks like it's going to be the subject of many Black Ops videos, but I agree with the video creator in that it should have a timer as it seems like a pretty big killstreak reward for only 3 kills.

EDIT: It's also good to see the removal of the Nuke and killstreaks peaking at 11. Bringing back the attack dogs is a welcome surprise.

The RC car is the only thing I'm not liking the look of in this to be honest, It just seems a bit too much. The rest of the killstreaks don't seem too bad, perhaps the chopper gunner is a bit low at 9kills but everything else is reasonable enough.

Perks and killstreaks

Perk 1
Lightweight - Move Faster (Pro)
Scavenger - Pick up ammo from fallen enemies. Replenish lethal grenades. (Pro)
Ghost - Undetectable by the Spy Plane and the Blackbird.
Flak Jacket - Reduces explosive damage.
Hardline - Killstreaks require 1 less kill.

Perk 2
Hardened - Bullets penetrate better.
Scout - Hold breath longer.
Steady Aim - Increased hip-fire accuracy.
Sleight of Hand - Faster reloads.
Warlord - Equip two attachments to your primary weapon.

Perk 3
Marathon - Longer sprint.
Ninja - Silent movement.
Second Chance - Pull out your pistol before dying.
Hacker - Ability to detect enemy equipment and explosives.
Tactical Mask - Reduces the effect of flash and concussion grenades.

Killstreaks

* 3 Spy Plane
* 3 RC-XD (remote bomb)
* 4 Counter Spy Plane
* 4 SAM Turret
* 5 Care Package

* 6 Mortar Team
* 7 Attack Helicopter
* 7 Valkyrie Rockets

Wasn't interested in this but it sounds kinda cool actually apart from this...

quote:

Black Ops features a range of options including the Camera Spike, which provides a remote camera view of the place you plant it handy to shove near a detonation device, or to use as a security camera while you're camping.

They say that like its a good thing...

Care packages are very annoying. At least you will only be able to earn killstreaks through killing people yourself and not through more killstreaks, although this might just increase campers (which is where the RC and poochies come in!)

Tatical insertions are back too, so im told. i guess they didn't want to lose the boosters.

I'll only be getting this for the single player if thats true. It's a bit of a fail IMO.

Apparently TI is going to be changed so it cant be used the same way as in MW2, could either be a 1-2 use per match or no TI beside another or something, they should have just removed it altogether, its a pointless piece of equipment,you can hear and see them a fucking mile away so you know someones around if you hear the sizzling sound effect, pointless like Scrambler

Just watched the multiplayer footage posted above, and I was disappointed to hear the guy doing the commentary as he was playing say that it seems like it will be easy for snipers to get one shot kills.

I hate the fact that in MW2 it's so easy to get a kill using a sniper rifle. I've lost count of the number of times I've watched a killcam of some guy sniping me, where the sight was nowhere near my body. I really wish they'd follow the example of BC2 and make sniping a bit more realistic.

If I'm using a .50 cal Sniper Rifle I'm not gonna expect you to get up and run away from it. Besides I don't think Kill Cam is ever completely 100% accurate in showing you how you died. But yeah, the sniping in BC2 is alot more satisfying when you pull of a headshot. The maps in COD are way to small to bring in a more realistic element to Sniper Rifles if you ask me anyway....

TI is really pointless in normal play, and besides, I've lost count of how many times I've seen the red mist through a wall and killed the guy using it soon afterwards.

I am about to reach prestige 10 soonish and I honestly don't think I've used it once in all the time I've been playing, along with the blast mask or whatever it's called.
