Jerry Goldsmith is one of the very best film composers. I have many of his albums.

First Knight is superb, as is Rambo II. Alien is a beautiful score also. However I do believe Star Trek: The Motion Picture is his best. How it never won an Oscar I just do not know.

The music in that movie is beautiful, from the Main Title to the Klingon battle theme, but my favourite is Ilya's Theme. One of my all time favourite pieces of music ever.

BTW one gripe with the Poll... where is The Omen? He won an Oscar for that!

Ignoring the poll options, the answer is clearly Poltergeist. The Rebirth cue is one of the greatest pieces of film music from any composer. Off this list though, I plumped for Star Trek. Love a bit of that bald lass's theme.
